Job Summary
This position is located at Nehelani Schofield Barracks Hawaii (Island of Oahu).

- Serves as a Recreation Specialist within the Recreation Program Team involved with planning organizing and conducting facility recreation programs for the community.
- Organizes plans and evaluate community programs that reflect community interests.
- Works in executing community-wide recreation events programs and services to meet the diversified needs of the community including a variety multi disciplinary events.
- Develops and plans publicity using installation media. Recommends items if supplies materials prizes decorations refreshments and equipment needed for program functions.
- Assists with training new personnel. Assures that proper security measures are taken to safeguard monies property equipment and facility. Assists with other recreation programs in the Recreation Center as needed.
- Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
- Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
- A one-year probationary period may be required.
- Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
- Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3 para.2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
- Must be available to work all hours of operations including nights weekends holidays and special events inside and outside of the facility.
- Work requires the use of physical exertion when preparing for and overseeing events. Must be able to lift and carry light to moderately heavy items.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION CRITERIA
- Experience OR a combination of experience and education that provided the knowledge of the goals principles methods and techniques of recreation programs and an understanding of the interests of individuals or groups.
- Completion of the requirements for a bachelors degree with major study in outdoor recreation and parks; recreation management; youth public urban or community recreation; or special population recreation is qualifying experience.
