R&D- Chemist I

This Protective & Marine R&D Chemist I will be responsible for completion of Commercialization activities for the United States and Canada. The R&D Chemist I position is accountable for contributing to the execution of projects and/or the solution of problems with minimal to moderate complexity. Primary responsibilities include supporting/leading projects in the areas of service requests quality support for current product lines continuous improvement initiatives technology transfers RM support and other control chemist activities. Additional responsibilities include collaborating with development team to support development and commercialization of new technologies.

Designs and executes experiments performs basic test methods and analysis of results.
Maintains accurate and detailed documentation of lab work accurate and up-to-date project documentation and provides written project updates.
Communicates within department and within a primary network of contacts.
Functions under supervision and establishes own time lines with minimal changes made by supervisor.
Accountable for contributing solutions to moderately complex projects.
Communicate detailed ideas concisely through written communication by writing technical reports.
Adheres to quality standards in accordance with the Global Business Management System.
Comply with and displays knowledge of all safety and security regulations and maintains a clean work area
Travel for technical conferences and product commercialization support. Provide outside customer service.
Train or mentor new technicians.
Adhere to company safety standards at all times.
Additional duties as assigned.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future (e.g. OPT CPT H1B EB-1etc.)
Bachelors degree in a Science Technology Engineering or Math field.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
1 year coatings experience with a focus on epoxy urethane color or raw materials.
Familiarity with application and troubleshooting of industrial coatings.
Practical understanding of spectral measurement data
Computer knowledge for basic inputting communication and data analysis
Math knowledge
Analytical chemistry and the ability to extend it beyond the realm of coatings
Proven problem-solving and decision-making ability.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1 year Protective & Marine coatings experience
Experience with solvent-borne and water-borne epoxy and urethane chemistries.
Familiarity with application and troubleshooting of industrial coatings.
Proficient in statistics and data analysis.
Design of Experiment

Travel Requirements: 10%

This position is not eligible for sponsorship for work authorization now or in the future including conversion to H-1B visa.
Successful candidate will be required to sign an Employee Restrictive Covenant Agreement where permitted by law.
This position is also eligible for bonus based on performance and subject to the terms of the Companys applicable plans.
