Radiology Technologist

Job Summary
- Produce a variety of high-quality radiographs through proper positioning and technique
- Administer contrast media using proper technique and according to department policy
- Utilize assigned functions with the Radiology Information System to complete paperwork and to document contrast media reactions
- Utilize the hospital computer system to enter radiology and laboratory orders charges and/or credits
- Review patients chart for confirmation of physicians orders and follows written and/or verbal protocols and instructions
- Follow department NRG and State policies and regulations for radiation safety to keep exposure
- ALARA
- Educate the patient and family when necessary regarding the exam treatment and outcome
- Performing visual preventative safety inspections and report dangerous department or equipment conditions to the appropriate personnel
- Communicate equipment malfunctions and low inventory levels to appropriate supervisor
- Performing procedures as the schedule requires and rotate call
- Performing other duties as assigned
- Adhere to the Service Excellence Standards and Expectations at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center
- Exhibit excellent customer relations to patients visitors physicians and co-workers
- Exhibit courteous communication skills and an ability to work with others exercising good judgment in performance of job duties
- Demonstrate courtesy compassion and respect to others in adherence of the hospitals philosophy and policy for promoting positive workplace and customer environments
- Work as a team to continuously improve work quality.
- Confirm patient identification prior to procedure by verbal confirmation on outpatients and identification band on in-patients
- Attend required hospital-wide orientations meetings and in-services
- Present self in a positive manner as reflected by personal attire and etiquette
- Demonstrate a commitment to flexible work scheduling when necessary to ensure patient care
- Reports to: The Operations Manager though may also receive work from Radiologists the Administrative Director of Radiology and the Senior and Clinical Leads

- Minimum Required Education: Graduate of an accredited program in radiologic technology
- Preferred Education: N/A
- Experience: Previous experience as a registered technologist is preferred but will accept a new graduate
