Job Summary

Job Summary:

The Interventional Radiology Technologist is responsible for performing specialized radiologic procedures including chemo delivery GI bleed treatment vein sampling and endovascular interventions. This role supports both inpatient and outpatient settings with a focus on patient care during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. The technologist will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team utilizing advanced imaging technology and medication systems to ensure high-quality patient outcomes. Candidates must hold required certifications and demonstrate the ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform interventional radiology procedures such as Y-90 chemo delivery TPA administration biopsies stent placement and vein sampling.
  • Provide patient care and monitoring during Phase 2 recovery in the endovascular lab.
  • Operate and maintain imaging equipment and medication dispensing systems (Pyxis).
  • Document procedures and patient data accurately using EPIC electronic medical records.
  • Collaborate with physicians nurses and other healthcare team members to ensure safe and effective patient care.
  • Assist with preparation and positioning of patients for procedures.
  • Respond to patient needs and emergencies during procedures as needed.
Required Skills & Certifications:
  • Active ACLS and BLS certifications.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in interventional radiology or related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of interventional radiology procedures including chemo delivery and vascular interventions.
  • Proficiency with medication dispensing systems such as Pyxis.
  • Experience with electronic documentation systems preferably EPIC.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a clinical environment.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
  • Experience with inpatient and outpatient interventional radiology procedures.
  • Familiarity with endovascular lab operations and patient recovery protocols.
  • Previous travel or per diem experience in radiology technology.
Special Considerations:
  • On-call overnight shifts once per week.
  • Weekend coverage required every 5th or 6th weekend.
  • Must have a minimum 3-month separation from any Providence-affiliated health system if previously employed.
  • Work environment includes high-acuity inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Strict adherence to safety protocols in handling chemo and TPA medications.
Scheduling:
  • Four 10-hour shifts per week scheduled from 07:00 to 17:30.
  • Shift assignments include weekdays with occasional weekends and overnight call.
