Our Radiology Diagnostic department provides comprehensive imaging services including X-rays and fluoroscopy. These diagnostic tools are essential for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
Radiological Technologist Provides health care services applying pulsed x-ray energy to assist with diagnosis or treatment. Performs radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures computer processing and related techniques producing images for the interpretation by or at the request of a licensed independent practitioner. Exercises professional judgment in performance of service and maintains a demeanor complimentary to medical ethics. Recognizes various patient conditions to provide appropriate patient care to ensure successful completion of the exam or procedure.
Description:
- Performs high-quality diagnostic imaging exams in accordance with physician orders and established protocols.
- Verifies patient identity medical history and exam information while ensuring patient safety comfort and proper positioning throughout procedures.
- Applies radiation safety standards including ALARA principles for patients staff and self during all imaging procedures.
- Produces and manages diagnostic images ensuring accurate documentation and image archiving within PACS and the electronic health record (EHR).
- Administers contrast materials and performs peripheral venipuncture when indicated while monitoring patients for adverse reactions or changes in condition.
- Performs equipment quality control reports malfunctions or safety concerns and maintains department supplies and readiness.
- Collaborates with Radiologists Nursing and interdisciplinary teams to support efficient patient flow and scheduling.
- Supports accreditation compliance staff training and adherence to hospital policies infection control and regulatory standards.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an Accredited School of Radiologic Technology.
- Current Kentucky Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (KBMIRT) License required.
- Must obtain American Heart Association BLS certification within 30 days of hire if not current upon hire.
- Must obtain and maintain American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification in Radiography (RT(R)) within 1 year of hire.
