Overview
Provides quality therapeutic medical physics support within a collaborative team of radiation oncologists medical physicists dosimetrists and radiation therapists. Works within established protocols to ensure the safe and effective use of radiation in treatment planning and delivery processes supports the implementation ofnew technologies and contributes to departmental policies procedures and quality initiatives. Participates in the systemwide medical physics QA/QC program by performing routine measurements equipment checks data collection and documentation in alignment with AAPM/ASTRO/ACR/ACRO standards while building competency.
Performs all Virginia Department of Health and North Carolina Radioactive Materials licenses regulatory tasks at their required frequency andmaintainsaccuraterecords of equipment tests results daily weekly monthlysemiannuallyand annual surveys radiopharmaceutical ordering receivingadministrationand waste disposal.
Maintains strict adherence to radiation safety policies anddemonstratesongoing professional development toward ABR certification.
Other Requirements:
Candidates with a doctoral degree (PhD) in a field other than Medical Physics must also have completed a CAMPEP (Commission on Accreditation of Medical Physics Education Programs) accredited Medical Physics certificate program to qualify.

Certification/Licensure
- ABR Eligible REQUIRED
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification REQUIRED
Experience
- Prior physicist experience PREFERRED
- Sr. profile requires 10 years physicist experience
