Job Summary

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
Accomplish Quality Assurance objectives by auditing processes conducting product analysis and documenting results.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Communicate audit findings and opportunities for improvement to Manufacturing and Quality.
  • Perform product and process audit inspection and first piece inspection layouts.
  • Conduct data mining and data analysis.
  • Calibrate gauges and use necessary inspection equipment and gauging for machined components.
  • Enhance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests & exploring opportunities to add value to processes.
  • Work well with others; be a team player.
  • Understands and follows the Jackson sites environmental policy and the environmental impacts associated with their work activities.
  • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required.

KEY COMPETENCIES AND ATTRIBUTES

  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and interpret engineering specifications and standards
  • Must have good problem solving skills
  • Must be self-motivated and work well in fast-paced situations
  • Must be mobile and possess the ability to walk around the plant
  • Must be able to work safely and use required PPE
  • Familiarity with GD&T is a plus


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or GED require
  • College Algebra strongly preferred (or the ability to demonstrate good math skills)
  • 2 years Previous experience as a Quality Inspector Quality Auditor Quality Technician and/or Machinist
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
