Job Summary

Summary

The Quality Specialist is responsible for the overall oversight and implementation of the Quality Plan related to the Services of Ellis Medicine. They interact with all services employees medical staff patients visitors vendors various regulatory and professional agencies.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT(S):

  • Degree in an appropriate discipline with a minimum of five years progressive experience in the field.
  • Participates in orientation and continuing education and updates and maintains knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills strong interpersonal motivational and conflict resolution skills. Strong management and administrative skills. Broad-based knowledge of hospital related regulatory compliance requirements

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Should be able to push/pull lift/move 20 lb. be able to perform moderately difficult manual manipulations such as using a keyboard writing and filing for extended periods of time must be able to perform tasks which require hand-eye coordination such as data entry typing and using photo copiers. Mobility requirements may include the ability to be stationary at a workstation for a prolonged period time in addition to being able to squat or be mobile for a reasonable length of time and distance. Communication requirements include the ability to comprehend the spoken English language in addition to being able to communicate and read the English language.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION:

  • Analyzes data for opportunities for processes improvement.
  • Works with Manager of Infection Control and Director of Quality/Risk to develop process improvement initiatives.
  • Works with process improvement teams to create action plans.
  • Holds process improvement teams accountable for deliverables related to action plans.
  • Effectively educates on quality issues and action plans.
  • Audits compliance with action plans.
  • Works with other members of the quality team on process improvement initiatives as requested.
  • Completes data abstraction for sepsis measure.
  • Supports the patient safety initiatives through direct participation on committees/task forces.
  • Works with departmental leaders on accreditation compliance activities.
  • Conducts TJC readiness rounds
  • Uses data collected during readiness rounds to create action plans for improvement
  • Attends TJC committee meetings and shares outcomes and action plans from readiness rounds
  • Researcher:
  • Leads Performance Improvement and Monitoring.
  • Applies current concepts and findings from research and/or studies to practice.

Salary Range: $22.28- $32.31/hr.Pay is based on experience skills and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
