They are looking for a Quality Control Manager to lead the QA/QC function and serve as a key quality partner to both the internal operations team and a major customer with an on-site presence at the facility.

Position Objective

Oversee the day-to-day quality function across the plant and ensure products and processes consistently meet company and customer requirements. Coordinate all quality procedures and policies for the plant to meet and exceed customer requirements setting a level of quality that gives the company a competitive edge in the industry.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all controlled documents in the plant regarding quality
  • Set up and maintain quality audit procedures for all production areas that meet or exceed customer requirements
  • Work with the Production Manager and Supervisors to discuss quality issues and reach resolution
  • Help ensure the production floor is a safe environment free from hazards
  • Maintain lab and verification equipment and report any needs to the Plant Manager
  • Work with customers on quality issues corrective actions vendor issues and related concerns
  • Supervise the quality staff on all shifts
  • Responsible for incoming audit requirements on raw materials
  • Support new product lines to ensure all quality procedures are in place prior to first production runs
  • Responsible for employee evaluations of the quality clerks on all shifts
  • Other duties as assigned

Education Training and Experience

  • 5 years supervisory experience preferred
  • 5 years quality experience preferred
  • Two years manufacturing experience
  • Associates or Bachelors degree in a related field preferred
  • Experience or certification in Lean Six Sigma preferred

Skills Knowledge and Abilities

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office
  • Able to use customer systems to check pack standards and other specification documents
  • Able to operate lab equipment to perform quality tests for certain production lines
  • Able to effectively manage personnel of varying skills and disciplinary backgrounds
  • Able to work cooperatively and effectively with peers and personnel in other departments
  • Able to keep company and customer information confidential
  • Able to adhere to all regulatory and company policies procedures and work instructions including customer-specific policies ISO GMPs USDA and regulatory food safety and food defense

Physical and Environmental Requirements

  • Able to read documents printouts computer screens and other communication
  • Able to hear well enough to communicate with co-workers
  • Able to reach touch and grasp
  • Able to stand and/or walk for prolonged periods
  • Able to climb stoop kneel lift pull and push
  • Able to conduct yourself safely to avoid accidents on the production floor
  • Able to work in various environments based on building location and products
  • Level of physical requirements: sedentary to medium work; lifting and positioning loads up to 35 pounds

0 to 25%. Travel may be required to support business needs.
