Velocity Aerospace Group is a subsidiary of a Precision Aviation Group (PAG) a full service inventory supported MRO provider in the aviation industry with 23 domestic and international business units. Velocity operates 3 repair stations specializing in the repair overhaul installation and upgrade of electromechanical digital pneumatic avionic and gyroscopic components for aircraft operators and maintainers in the commercial/regional airline government and defense operation business and general aviation markets.
Our Burbank California facility has an opening for a Quality Manager position.
JOB PURPOSE
The Quality Manager is responsible for maintaining the facilitys regulatory approvals certifications quality procedures audit readiness corrective-action system and overall compliance. The Quality Manager will work closely with the Chief Inspector who leads the day-to-day inspection function and final release controls as well as Operations Engineering and other facility leaders.
This is a strong opportunity for a hands-on quality leader who understands how to maintain a compliant system while also helping the operation improve solve problems and meet customer expectations
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Job Functions:
- Lead and maintain the facilitys Quality Management System.
- Ensure compliance with applicable FAA Part 145 EASA UK CAA and CAAC requirements.
- Maintain compliance with AS9110 ISO 9001 and ASA-100 requirements.
- Serve as the primary quality contact during regulatory registrar customer and internal audits.
- Maintain the Repair Station and Quality Control Manuals procedures forms and controlled quality documentation.
- Lead the internal audit program and ensure identified findings are addressed effectively and on time.
- Oversee corrective and preventive actions including root-cause analysis containment action planning and effectiveness verification.
- Lead management review activities and report quality trends risks audit results and performance metrics to facility leadership.
- Provide oversight of inspector qualifications training systems authorizations rosters and quality records in partnership with the Chief Inspector.
- Oversee quality requirements related to external providers calibration technical data customer requirements and record retention.
- Review regulatory and customer changes and ensure new requirements are incorporated into facility processes.
- Provide leadership coaching and direction to the Quality team.
- Partner with Operations and Engineering to resolve compliance or quality concerns while maintaining the independence and authority of the Quality function.
Marginal Job Functions:
- Knowledge of general office clerical procedures.
- Strong computer skills with expertise in Microsoft Word Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to regularly exercise sound judgment.

This position may require walking primarily on a level surface for periods of time as well as reaching above shoulder heights or below the waist or lifting as required to file documents or store materials throughout the workday
Equipment Operated: Ability to operate office machines and equipment and troubleshoot problems with equipment.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Knowledge Skills and Abilities: Must have a minimum of 5 years experience.
- Must be Highly Motivated individual
- Must possess Excellent Organizational and Communication Skills
- Must have Data Entry Skills / computer literate
- Must be able to read write and understand English
- Must be available to work Fulltime M-F Hours ranging from 7am 5pm
- Must pass FAA/DOT Pre-Employment drug test and background screen also will be subjected to random drug and alcohol testing.
Education/Training: A college degree in Quality Engineering Aviation Business or a related field is preferred. A combination of relevant training and significant hands-on aerospace quality experience may be considered.
Experience:
- At least seven years of aerospace quality or regulated repair experience including quality leadership responsibility.
- Strong working knowledge of FAA Part 145 repair-station requirements.
- Experience leading FAA customer certification or quality-system audits.
- Experience maintaining controlled manuals quality procedures audit records corrective actions and compliance documentation.
- Strong understanding of root-cause analysis and corrective-action methods such as 5-Why Fishbone or 8D.
- Ability to interpret regulatory customer technical and quality-system requirements.
- Strong written communication skills and the ability to develop clear procedures and professional audit responses.
- Ability to lead a quality team and work effectively across Operations Engineering Customer Service and senior leadership.
- Strong organization follow-through and judgment when managing multiple priorities.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with EASA UK CAA or CAAC repair-station requirements.
- Experience maintaining AS9110 and ISO 9001 certification.
- Familiarity with ASA-100 accreditation and related supplier or documentation controls.
- Experience in avionics aircraft instruments electrical accessories or aerospace component repair.
- Lead Auditor ASQ Six Sigma or comparable quality certification.
- Experience supporting international customers or dual-release requirements.
Certificates/Licenses: FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate preferred or equivalent aviation quality experience.
