Job Summary

PGS Worldwide is seeking Quality Inspectors in Oxnard California for a one-year onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. These second-shift positions will inspect spacecraft components mechanical assemblies incoming materials and completed hardware to ensure conformance with engineering drawings quality requirements and contractual specifications.

Required Skills
  • High school diploma or GED with at least 3 years of additional education and/or direct experience in quality assurance or inspection.
  • Experience performing dimensional inspection.
  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints drawings diagrams specifications and inspection instructions.
  • Experience inspecting mechanical assemblies.
  • Experience using precision measuring equipment such as calipers micrometers comparators gages pin gages and similar inspection tools.
  • Experience identifying and documenting non-conforming material.
  • Experience with Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) or similar quality documentation.
  • Ability to perform visual dimensional and functional inspections.
  • Ability to determine acceptance or rejection of inspected hardware based on established requirements.
  • Ability to maintain accurate inspection records logs and reports.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Ability to work second shift 2:30 PM12:00 AM.
Preferred Skills
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Ability to read and understand detailed control plans work instructions Bills of Materials specifications and related quality criteria.
  • Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs).
  • Experience with electronics workmanship standards such as IPC-A-610 and IPC/WHMA-A-620.
  • Aerospace manufacturing experience.
  • Experience inspecting mechanical and/or electronic assemblies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working within cross-functional teams to resolve quality or manufacturing issues.
What Youll Do
  • Perform visual dimensional functional and other required inspections on spacecraft components and subassemblies.
  • Inspect in-process and completed products using established inspection methods and specifications.
  • Use calipers micrometers comparators pin gages CMMs and other precision measurement equipment.
  • Inspect mechanical electrical and structural components and assemblies.
  • Perform close-tolerance dimensional inspections and general surveillance of work in process.
  • Determine whether inspected products meet established acceptance criteria.
  • Accept reject or identify hardware requiring rework based on inspection results.
  • Document and track non-conforming material.
  • Assist with investigation of quality issues and identification of root causes.
  • Perform receiving inspections on incoming purchased parts and materials.
  • Verify incoming material against vendor certifications and engineering requirements.
  • Maintain detailed inspection records logs and reports.
  • Work with manufacturing and engineering personnel to resolve process and documentation issues.
Work Schedule / Shift
  • Full-time onsite in Oxnard California.
  • Second shift: 2:30 PM12:00 AM.
  • 9/80A work schedule.
Pay
  • $59.22 per hour.
