Base Compensation Range: $27.04/hr $34.19/hr

This position is eligible for an annual 10% bonus opportunity in addition to the base salary

      Sterilization and Disinfection Control division manufactures and sells biological and chemical indicators that assess the effectiveness of sterilization and disinfection processes for pharmaceutical healthcare and dental industries.

      Job Summary

      The Quality Control Specialist IV is a senior-level position responsible for overseeing and executing advanced quality control activities to ensure that products meet stringent quality standards and specifications. This role requires extensive knowledge of quality control methodologies exceptional analytical skills and the ability to lead inspection processes while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams. Drive quality initiatives and provide mentorship to junior staff.

      Duties/Responsibilities

      • Advanced Inspection and Testing:
        • Conduct comprehensive inspections and tests on incoming materials in-process products and finished goods to ensure compliance with quality specifications and standards.
        • Utilize advanced measurement tools and techniques performing complex assessments of product quality.

      • Documentation and Quality Reporting:
        • Accurately document inspection results maintaining detailed records of non-conformance reports corrective actions and quality metrics.
        • Prepare in-depth quality reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to management and stakeholders.

      • Collaboration and Leadership:
        • Work closely with engineering production and supply chain teams to address quality issues promptly and effectively.
        • Lead cross-functional meetings to discuss quality concerns drive solutions and enhance team collaboration.

      • Quality Improvement Initiatives:
        • Identify and analyze trends in quality data participating in root cause analysis for defects and leading the implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
        • Propose and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and manufacturing processes.

      • Compliance and Standards Adherence:
        • Ensure compliance with industry standards regulatory requirements and internal quality procedures.
        • Assist in planning and conducting internal audits supporting external audits and ensuring quality management systems are effectively implemented.

      • Training and Development:
        • Provide mentorship and training to junior quality control staff on inspection techniques quality standards and best practices.
        • Foster a culture of quality awareness encouraging continuous improvement among team members.

      • Data Analysis and Statistical Process Control:
        • Analyze quality data using statistical tools and software to identify trends deviations and opportunities for improvement.
        • Develop and implement statistical process control (SPC) methodologies to monitor quality performance.

      • Equipment Calibration and Maintenance:
        • Ensure that inspection equipment is calibrated maintained and functioning correctly according to established protocols.
        • Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate necessary maintenance and repairs.



      Experience/Education

      • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
      • Minimum of 4- 6 years of experience in quality control or quality assurance with a focus on manufacturing environment

      Knowledge and Skillsets Required

      • Strong knowledge of quality control methodologies tools and standards (e.g. ISO Six Sigma).
      • Proficient in using advanced measurement and inspection tools (e.g. calipers gauges testing equipment).
      • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
      • Exceptional communication skills both verbal and written with the ability to lead and collaborate effectively across teams.
      • Proficient in data analysis software and Microsoft Office Suite.

      Physical Demands:

      • Sitting: Often for extended periods at desks or meetings.
      • Standing or walking: Occasionally for meetings or office tasks.
      • Using computers: Typing and using office equipment.
      • Lifting: Light less than 10 pounds.
      • Repetitive motions: Frequent use of keyboard and mouse.

      Environmental Conditions:

      • Workspace: Climate control (air conditioning or heating) to ensure comfort.
      • Lighting: Adjustable lighting to reduce eye strain.
      • Noise Levels: The noise level is moderate with occasional interruptions from phone calls and conversations. Use non-canceling headphones if necessary.
      • Ergonomics: Workstations with desk and adjustable chairs to support good postures.
      • Ventilation: Good ventilation to ensure a comfortable working environment though this can vary depending on the building.
