Job Summary

SCOPE OF WORK The Quality Assurance Manager for Gaylor Electric is expected to understand and interpret design packages for projects and be capable of interpreting job site specifications. The ideal candidate can establish and maintain quality control goals through training to ensure employee awareness of the roles and responsibilities regarding quality assurance. The Quality Assurance Manager must be independent self-motivated innovative resourceful and possess strong organizational and communication skills. The Quality Assurance Manager is pivotal in electrical installations to ensure the highest standards of quality safety and reliability maintaining customer satisfaction and a competitive edge in the REQUIREMENTSUses Gaylor Core Values as tools to carry out all job responsibilitiesPromotes the philosophy of Gaylor Core Values inspires commitment to excellence and openness to effectively promote Gaylors cultureFosters a culture of quality throughout Gaylor by promoting awareness and accountabilityMust be self-motivated and work without direct supervisionMust display sound judgement and decision makingPartners with others to identify and meet Gaylor objectives and customer needsWorks collaboratively with other departments to perform advanced diversified and complex tasksStrong administrative organization and communication skillsOrganizes and prioritizes workload to meet deadlinesDisplays exceptional organization skills for record keeping and documentation purposesMust be able to read and interpret design packages for projects and job site specificationsExtensive knowledge of National Electrical Code and AHJ requirementsPOSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Designs implements and maintains quality management systems to ensure compliance with industry standards regulations and customer requirementsEstablishes and maintains QC procedures for each stage of the manufacturing and/or installation process and conducts regular inspections audits and evaluations to identify areas for improvementEstablishes key quality performance indicators to assess and analyze effectiveness of QA processes to identify areas for improvementUtilizes data analytics to identify trends root causes of issues and opportunities for improvementLeads continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality reduce defects and optimize processesWorks closely with other departments to address quality issues resolve conflicts and drive continuous improvement initiativesCollaborates with suppliers to establish quality standards for raw materials and componentsConducts supplier audits and assessments to ensure compliance with quality requirementsProvides and initiates QC training on procedures best practices and ensures awareness of roles and responsibilities regarding QAMaintains accurate records and ensures documentation is complete organized and accessible for auditsMonitors customer feedback to identify areas for improvement and implements corrective actionsCollaborates with other departments to address customer concerns and ensure satisfactionIdentifies potential risks to product quality and develops strategies to mitigate risks through assessments implementing preventive measures and establishing contingency plansLeads and conducts quality control meetings with project team and/or customerCreates and maintains Quality and Commissioning Schedules on the jobsiteCommunicates and manages open observations with installation teamsWORKING CONDITIONS May require working in all elements (heat cold rain snow etc.) depending on job location and/or time of yearMust be able to utilize construction site sanitary facilities (port-o-lets)Must have required hand tools at all times while at work site (waist tool belts can weigh up to 30 lbs.)Must be able to work scheduled hours as well as overtime as required on short noticeMust be able to work in noisy environmentsMust be able to remain calm in times of heightened emotional situationsMust work well with others as a member of a team to complete tasksPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSMust be able to wear personnel protective equipment (i.e. hard hat safety glasses gloves high visibility vest safety harness etc.) when requiredAbility to stand bend stoop squat crawl climb kneel balance push pull and reach overhead for extended periods of timeAbility to lift loads of up to 51 use of arms hands and fingersAbility to climb and use ladders and scaffolding of all types for extended periods of timePossess good vision/hearing (normal or corrected)Ability to make transition from designated employee parking areas to construction areas and be able to gain access to all levels of building/structure even if only means of access is by OSHA approved site construction ladder or stairs still under construction but deemed safe for useAbility to work while constantly movingAbility to reach and stretch to position equipment fixtures etc. while maintaining balanceAbility to use both hands simultaneously for tying knots and for proper use of power equipmentMust be able to see color to discern color-coded wiringMust be physically capable of pulling wires and cables through conduitsEDUCATIONHigh school graduate or equivalentApprenticeship completion or relevant craft electrician certification preferredEXPERIENCEThree or more years in electrical QC preferredNFPA 70E preferred; Journeymenlicense preferredBilingual English/Spanish speaking preferred
