Job Summary
The Manager Quality Assurance is a mid-level management role responsible for ensuring that products processes and systems consistently meet defined quality standards regulatory requirements and customer expectations. This role focuses on prevention-focused quality assurance through robust systems controls and governance rather than end-product inspection alone.Job Description
Role Overview
Key Responsibilities
- Lead development implementation and maintenance of quality assurance systems and procedures
- Ensure effective document control change management and quality governance practices
- Maintain alignment with internal quality policies and external regulatory standards
- Provide quality engineering direction to component design and project engineers in multiple locations developing and testing new products
- Support Supplier Quality to qualify and develop electronic contract manufacturers and other electronic component suppliers ensuring robust quality processes to manufacture assemble and test products
- Provide technical direction to Inspectors Technicians Quality Engineers and other Quality resources
- Support continuous quality improvement activities to pursue zero defects including electronics dashboards and scorecards
- Support introduction of new models and changes with suppliers
- Ensure use of the PPAP process
- Coordinate corrective and preventive action activities and quality metrics
- Implement improve and maintain document electronic quality processes
Required qualifications and experience
Education
- Bachelors degree in Engineering Quality Manufacturing or related field required
- Masters degree or professional certification (CQE CQA Six Sigma Black Belt) preferred
Experience and qualifications
- Typically 7 or more years of progressive experience in quality assurance quality systems or regulated environments
- Prior people management or QA leadership experience required
- 36 years of experience in quality engineering manufacturing engineering or related technical roles
- Advanced knowledge of quality engineering principles and tools
- Strong structured problemsolving and analytical capability
