Job Summary
Position Summary
The Quality & Safety Manager is responsible for leading the sites Quality Management System (QMS) while coordinating day-to-day safety programs that promote a safe compliant and continuous improvement-focused manufacturing environment.
This position is quality-focused with approximately 70% of responsibilities dedicated to quality systems process improvement customer satisfaction and operational excellence. The remaining responsibilities focus on leading the sites safety culture through employee engagement training inspections and execution of established safety programs.
Corporate EH&S provides leadership for regulatory compliance environmental permitting and reporting corporate safety programs and annual compliance oversight. Maintenance owns facility-related safety systems including machine safety and Lockout/Tagout. This position serves as the sites coordinator and champion for quality and safety while driving continuous improvement.
- Lead and continuously improve the sites Quality Management System (QMS).
- Develop and maintain quality procedures work instructions and SOPs.
- Lead customer complaint investigations root cause analysis and CAPA.
- Partner with Operations to reduce defects scrap waste and rework.
- Conduct internal process audits and monitor quality metrics.
- Support supplier quality initiatives.
- Lead Lean and continuous improvement projects.
- Coordinate quality training and standardization.
- Partner with leadership teams to support the Site Safety Committee and safety culture.
- Support the PPE program and maintain the PPE matrix.
- Coordinate incident reporting near-miss investigations and follow-up actions.
- Support the First Aid/AED program and emergency response readiness.
- Facilitate safety orientation and recurring safety training.
- Partner with operations to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Conduct safety observations coaching and risk assessments.
- Maintain the chemical inventory and SDS system.
- Assist with emergency preparedness and response planning.
- Track and report environmental metrics including water air and waste.
- Participate in site safety inspections and audits.
- Maintain safety records and compliance documentation.
- Support site safety projects and develop site-specific training.
- Partner with Corporate EH&S on audits regulatory reporting permitting environmental compliance corporate safety programs incident reviews and training development.
- Partner with Maintenance on machine guarding Lockout/Tagout equipment safety improvements engineering controls and facility safety systems.
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.
- Approximately five years of manufacturing experience with emphasis in Quality Systems.
- Knowledge of CAPA root cause analysis auditing and Lean Manufacturing.
- Familiarity with OSHA requirements.
- Experience in printing packaging or light industrial manufacturing preferred.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001 principles (ISO certification not required)
- Reports to: Plant Manager
- Works closely with Operations Production Maintenance Human Resources Corporate EH&S and Corporate Quality.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $56000 USD - $66000 annually. Ultimately in determining pay we will consider the successful candidates location experience and other job-related factors.
