Job Summary
Mallard Manufacturing a MacLean-Fogg Company is hiring a Purchasing Representative at our Sterling Illinois this role you will support accurate timely purchasing by preparing purchase orders coordinating with suppliers maintaining purchasing records and helping drive cost savings and process improvements.
Location: Sterling IL
Work Arrangement: On-site
Schedule: 1st Shift Monday-Friday 6:30 AM-2:30 PM
Pay: $17.50-$21.50/hour
Employment Type: Full-time / Hourly
Overtime: Overtime may be required based on business needs.
Edit and process purchase requests accurately and on time preparing purchase orders that align with organizational needs.
Research catalogs vendor databases and market references to compare pricing and obtain detailed material and supply specifications.
Maintain accurate purchasing records including materials pricing inventory levels delivery schedules and supporting documentation.
Communicate with vendors and suppliers to obtain quotations negotiate terms follow up on outstanding purchase orders and support timely fulfillment of procurement needs.
Drive cost-saving initiatives and process improvements within assigned purchasing responsibilities.
Own supplier projects and associated meetings while developing knowledge across assigned specialty buying categories.
Monitor inventory levels help identify reorder points and support sufficient stock levels while minimizing excess inventory.
Provide guidance coaching and support to junior staff as needed while following company purchasing policies procedures and supplier-management practices.
High school diploma.
2-4 years of experience.
Knowledge of UPS/FedEx shipping.
Intermediate verbal and written communication skills including professional phone and email communication.
Strong attention to detail for purchase orders pricing inventory records and related documentation.
Organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
Experience using Microsoft Office and Teams.
Intermediate mathematical skills for accurate calculations.
Knowledge of JD Edwards or a similar system.
Problem-solving skills and the ability to identify efficient solutions to purchasing challenges.
Ability to make sound judgment decisions based on the information available.
Ability to provide guidance and support to junior staff and contribute to a collaborative work environment.
This role involves sitting for extended periods and may require pushing or pulling objects weighing up to 15 pounds.
