Purchasing Agent Buyer

• Procure supplies materials equipment and services required to support Center program operation in accordance with Center contract requirements Corporate objectives and government policies
• Make purchases in a reasonable time frame for efficient Center operation
• Ensure that procurement is in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulations Department Of Labor Acquisition Standards Office of Management and Budget Circulars and Executive Orders
• Maintain working library on rules and regulations for sub-contracting property compliance and equipment purchasing
• Maintain professional memberships
• Use the Small Business Administration as a prime source for locating new vendors
• Ensure that Center goals for using small woman owned small disadvantage and hub zone businesses are met
• Verify that new vendors are financially sound with an ability and good reputation for supplying materials and /or services
• Create and maintain database of business supplies and vendors using on-line sources
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications :

• Four years of purchasing experience preferable
• Knowledgeable of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) is highly desirable
• Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or related field or four years purchasing experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
