Public Safety Dispatch Position Open

PublicSafetyDispatch: Position available 20-40hoursperweek(mayhave toworknightsweekends andholidays).Union positionaffiliatedwithCouncil94andisclassified asLaborGrade E. Step 1 starts at $23.05 per successful completion of a six-month probationary period a Step and wage increase is eligible.

Must be at least 18 years of age have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent and be a check.

Dispatchersareresponsibleforthehandlingofroutineandemergencypublicassistancecallsfor police fire emergency medical services and in-station requests from members of the public.

Applicants must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong computer data entry and database management skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Applicants must possess a demonstrated ability to remain calm in stressful and emergency situations; multi-task and function well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment; and maintain a high degree of maturity strict confidentiality and exercise discretion in the handling successful working relationships with fellow employees the public and others in a courteous manneranddealtactfullyrespectfullyand effectivelywiththepublicinbothroutineandcrisis situations.

Requirements:ProficiencywithWindowscomputingenvironmentsMicrosoftOfficegeneral data entry/word processing and typing.
