The Department of Psychology is searching for a tenure-track academic-year position as an Assistant Professor of Psychology. The candidates primary area of specialization may be in quantitative methods or it may be in another subdiscipline of psychology provided that quantitative methods play a substantial role in the candidates research program. Quantitative methods is broadly defined but may include experimental design statistical modeling psychometrics computational modeling and the quantitative analysis of behavioral or psychological data. Primary responsibilities include: 1) teaching foundation and advanced courses in statistics and research design within our undergraduate (B.A.) program and graduate (M.A.) programs in General/Experimental Psychology and 2) supervising undergraduate and graduate research students in an active research program in the candidates area of expertise. The candidate will have a workload consisting of 12 WTUs of instruction and 3 WTUs of non instructional activities. Non-instructional responsibilities typically include but are not limited to maintaining an active research program advising students community service participating in program development and committee service at all levels of university governance. Specific assignments depend on departmental needs and the individuals background.

Qualifications:
Required Education (from an accredited institution or foreign equivalent.):
- An earned doctorate (Ph.D.) in Psychology or closely related field from an accredited (or equivalent) institution.
- Applicants nearing completion of the doctorate (ABD) may be considered; however for appointment the doctorate must be completed by August 1 2027.
Required Experience:
- Evidence of successful teaching either as an instructor-of-record or as a teaching assistant.
- Evidence of research productivity.
- A commitment to student success through inclusive accessible and transformative education and to working collaboratively and respectfully with students faculty staff in our diverse community.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with students faculty staff and members of the campus community.
Preferred Experience:
- Successful teaching in the areas of research methods and statistics.
- A record of using quantitative methods to advance research in ones area of specialization
- Evidence of readiness to engage undergraduate and masters-level students in ones specific area of research.
- Collaboration across and within disciplines.
- Supervision or mentoring of research students or research team coordination.
- Participation in the development of grant proposals and/or implementation of grant funded activities with strong potential to develop an externally funded research program.

Commensurate with qualifications and experience. The anticipated hiring range is $6750 -$7100 per month for an Assistant Professor (12 monthly payments per academic year). As a member of the 23-campus CSU System we offer an extremely competitive benefits package.

The Department of Psychology is an academic unit within The College of Science and Mathematics which is one of eight main instructional academic units of California State University Fresno. The department is one of the largest on campus with approximately 1850 undergraduate majors 85 graduate students and 20 tenured or tenure-track faculty.
