Job Title: Group Proposal & Renewal Specialist
Division: Group Benefits
Location: Columbia SC or Charlotte NC
Type: Full-Time; May be eligible for hybrid work schedule after successful completion of training
Hiring Range: $40000 - $46000 annually (commensurate with directly applicable experience)

Our Group Benefits New Business Department provides case oversight and support by assuring completeness accuracy and timeliness of group application submissions to respective insurance carriers.

As a Proposal & Renewal Specialist you will work with carrier partners to obtain monthly renewals; work with Account Executives and Sales Reps to gather group proposals and consolidate quotes into spreadsheets; and help ensure a smooth and effective quoting and renewal process for groups.

What Our Proposal & renewal Specialists Do:

  • Organize and Maintain: Pull renewals from carrier databases and load to internal drives; update internal databases with current renewal information to ensure accuracy; save all completed quotes obtained into the internal database system and consolidate proposals into spreadsheets for Account Executives; stay up to date on quoting changes/requirements and follow up on outstanding quotes to remain within the expected turnaround times.
  • Engage as a Team Player: Work closely with Account Executives to provide outstanding quotes to each team member and update them on any issues during the quoting process; receive quote requests from Sales and Sales Support teams gather necessary information for quotes and work with carrier partners to produce accurate group proposals; assist in training for new employees
  • Stay Current in Industry: Maintain a current knowledge of products carriers quoting requirements and guidelines rates and rating procedures group insurance installation and underwriting procedures group insurance law commissions licensing and appointment procedures.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Bachelors Degree or high school diplomas with two years of professional experience
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy along with compliance of deadlines while managing and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent communication interpersonal and customer services skills as well as the ability to work well as part of a team
  • Familiarity and comfort operating in Microsoft Office (especially Outlook); knowledge of general databases
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the role within two-four months
