A role at Target Printing Services (TPS) means becoming part of a dynamic team that drives the strategy of internal partners such as Marketing and Store Operations through print and kitting projects. The TPS team has a wide range of responsibilities including planning press fulfillment and distribution enabling us to positively impact guest and team member experiences while embodying Targets core values.


As a Print Planner you own estimating production planning and the ordering of materials and outside services for Target Printing Services work. You partner closely with Project Managers and Account Managers to translate approved project requirements into accurate cost-effective and executable production plans. Your primary responsibility is determining the best production approach by balancing cost efficiency quality production capabilities and the required job timeline. You serve as the primary resource for production-plan questions enabling Production and Scheduling teams to execute work efficiently and according to job requirements.

You will create and maintain accurate estimates job tickets purchase orders and detailed production instructions using Monarch Estimating and Planning tools. You will determine the equipment production methods layouts sheet sizes and quantities materials dies finishing requirements carton sizes and quantities and outside services required for each project. You will coordinate material and vendor timing so resources and outsourced work are available to support the required job due date.


You will identify material equipment vendor and production constraints; evaluate viable alternatives based on cost capability efficiency quality and timing; and communicate recommendations and impacts to Project Managers and appropriate partners. You will collaborate with Account Managers Production Scheduling and other Printing Services partners to resolve planning questions and ensure plans are complete accurate and ready for execution. You will also support prototyping test runs and production trials as needed using outcomes to validate or adjust the production plan before execution.

You will maintain planning accuracy and consistency by validating estimates and job tickets against approved requirements requests for quote specifications and proofs. You will also identify opportunities to improve cost material utilization production efficiency and planning processes.

About you:

4 years of experience in print planning estimating print production production operations or a related role

Experience using Monarch Estimating and Planning or similar print estimating and planning systems preferred

Strong understanding of print production workflows equipment capabilities materials finishing and production planning

Demonstrated ability to evaluate production variables identify constraints and determine viable solutions that balance cost efficiency quality and required timelines

Strong organization and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities with accuracy and urgency in a fast-paced environment

Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to translate production requirements into clear actionable instructions and build productive partnerships across teams and with internal and external partners; experience supporting multi-shift production environments preferred

Ability to report to and perform job duties primarily on-site at a Target headquarters location
