Job Summary
PlanIT Group is seeking a Project Manager for our Federal customer in the Washington DC area. The ideal candidate has experience with defining project requirements by identifying project milestones phases and elements takes projects from assignment to implementation. Supports management teams efforts in change management. Recommends and takes action to improve processes. Designs computer solutions along with other analysts and developers Provides direction to the development and testing scrum teams. Oversees Work Management but not required to manage resources.

List of tasks to be performed:
Defines project requirements by identifying project milestones phases and elements takes projects from assignment to implementation.
Supports management teams efforts in change management.
Recommends and takes action to improve processes.
Designs computer solutions along with other analysts and developers
Provides direction to the development and testing scrum teams
Oversees Work Management but not required to manage resources.*
Requires strong leadership and team-building skills to collaborate effectively with a group of high performing individuals as well as the Executive Leadership Team
Be a highly effective technical leader-by-example mentoring the Application development team and using your expertise to guide the design development and maintenance of the application
Demonstrate leadership ability to back decisions with research and the why and articulate several options the pros and cons for each and a recommendation
Able to present and communication at all levels within an organization
Possible SOX documentation
Knowledge with the following qualifications:
Knowledge/experience with Agile Methodologies
Knowledge of Version One or similar work management tools
Able to present and communication at all levels within an organization
Working knowledge (2 years experience) of one of more of the following qualifications:
Working knowledge of Java UNIX and SQL using Oracle DB
Prior Management Leadership Experience
Required Experience Level:
Minimum of 5-7 years experience in technology or software development preferred
Educational Requirements:
A degree from an accredited College/University in the applicable field of services is preferred.
NOTE: If resource does not have a relevant college degree an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required.
*This position will not require any management of resources. Postal EAS will manage the resources including both contractors and postal developers. This position directly supports the postal EAS leads in managing the project tasks.
Educational Requirements:
A degree from an accredited College/University in the applicable field of services is preferred.
NOTE: If resource does not have a relevant college degree an additional 1 year of relevant work experience is required.
Additional Provisions:
Must be able to obtain a Position of Public Trust Clearance
Pass both a client mandated clearance process to include drug screening criminal history check and credit check.
All candidates must be a US Citizen or US Permanent Resident only.
Candidate must have lived in the United States for the past 5 years.
Cannot have more than 6 months travel outside the United States within the last five years. Military Service excluded. (Exception does not include military family members.)
