Job Description

Our client is a large self-perform heavy industrial contractor with a growing power generation group. It builds combined-cycle gas-fired and industrial power projects including behind-the-meter generation for large private loads.

Position Summary

The Project Manager owns one power project from start to finish through startup. You are the owners main contact and run the job day to day. This is a hands-on working PM role not a corporate one.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Leading superintendents and self-perform craft across mechanical piping electrical steel and concrete.
  • Managing schedule cost forecasting labor productivity and change orders.
  • Coordinating subcontracted scopes alongside self-perform work.
  • Leading owner meetings.
  • Driving safety and quality on site every day.
Required Qualifications
  • 5 years managing heavy industrial construction projects.
  • Power generation project experience: combined-cycle simple-cycle CT HRSG cogeneration or BOP.
  • Self-perform / direct-hire craft experience not only managing subcontractors.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Combined-cycle or behind-the-meter / data-center power experience.
  • Open-shop (non-union) project experience.
  • Primavera P6 proficiency.

Not a fit: True heavy industrial background required. Commercial institutional government or water/wastewater-only experience will not be a fit. Renewables-only backgrounds are not the target.

Compensation
  • Bonus eligible.
  • Per diem and paid travel home between rotations.
Work Environment

You live on site for the life of the project typically about three weeks on and then home.
