Project Manager Owner's Representative Data Center Mechanical Engineering SME

About the role

The Project Manager / Owners Representative Data Center Mechanical Engineering SME serves as a trusted advisor to clients throughout the planning design construction commissioning and handover of mission-critical data center projects. Acting as the owners representative this role provides technical leadership on mechanical systems ensuring projects are delivered safely on schedule within budget and in alignment with operational reliability and performance objectives. The position collaborates closely with clients designers contractors and commissioning teams to drive successful project outcomes while managing risk and maintaining the highest standards of quality.

What youll do

• Represent the clients interests throughout all phases of data center development and delivery.
• Provide subject matter expertise for mechanical systems including HVAC cooling plants CRAH/CRAC units chilled water and associated infrastructure.
• Manage project scope schedule budget risks and stakeholder communications.
• Review mechanical designs specifications calculations and technical submittals for compliance with project requirements.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams consultants contractors and commissioning providers.
• Monitor construction progress quality safety and adherence to project standards.
• Lead technical issue resolution and support value engineering initiatives.
• Support testing commissioning startup and turnover activities to ensure operational readiness.
• Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies to maintain delivery objectives.
• Provide regular project reporting and executive-level updates to clients and stakeholders.

Qualifications :

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• 8 years of experience delivering mission-critical data center industrial or large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of data center mechanical systems cooling technologies and redundancy strategies.
• Experience acting as an Owners Representative Project Manager Design Manager or Mechanical Engineering lead.
• Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams consultants and contractors.
• Familiarity with commissioning testing and operational readiness processes.
• Strong stakeholder management communication and problem-solving skills.
• PMP PE CxA or other relevant professional certifications preferred.
• Ability to work in fast-paced environments and support projects across multiple locations.
