Job Description Summary
This role is responsible for the safe compliant and profitable execution of Major Component Upgrade (MCU) and Blade projects across North America.

The Project Manager independently leads assigned projects from planning through closeout maintaining accountability for safety quality schedule cost customer satisfaction and contractual compliance. The role serves as the primary liaison between customers field execution teams subcontractors vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.

Successful candidates demonstrate strong leadership sound business judgment and the ability to make operational decisions in dynamic field environments.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

Safety Quality & Compliance

  • Champion a strong safety culture and lead by example.
  • Accountable for project EHS performance and corrective action closure.
  • Ensure compliance with GE Vernova safety standards customer requirements and regulatory obligations.
  • Maintain prevailing wage compliance and support certified payroll accuracy.
  • Ensure project documentation remains audit-ready throughout execution.
  • Own quality documentation inspection records punch list management and final customer acceptance.
  • Lead lessons learned and continuous improvement activities following project completion.

Project Execution & Leadership

  • Own end-to-end execution of assigned MCU and Blade projects.
  • Develop detailed execution plans aligned with customer requirements and operational constraints.
  • Lead project kickoff meetings and establish clear expectations with field teams and stakeholders.
  • Monitor project progress and proactively manage risks issues and recovery plans.
  • Drive execution excellence through daily weekly and milestone-based project reviews.
  • Ensure projects are completed safely on time within budget and to quality standards.


Financial Management

  • Develop and maintain project budgets forecasts and cost controls.
  • Monitor labor equipment crane subcontractor travel and material costs.
  • Identify financial risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Manage project invoicing support change orders and cost recovery opportunities.
  • Maintain accountability for project profitability and forecast accuracy.


Customer Relationship Management

  • Serve as the primary customer-facing representative for assigned projects.
  • Lead customer status meetings and provide routine execution updates.
  • Manage customer expectations and facilitate timely resolution of concerns.
  • Support customer escalation management and recovery planning when required.
  • Build strong customer relationships that drive repeat business and long-term partnerships.


Contractor & Vendor Management

  • Coordinate subcontractors crane providers logistics vendors and equipment suppliers.
  • Ensure vendor performance aligns with project requirements and contractual obligations.
  • Monitor contractor compliance with safety quality and prevailing wage requirements.
  • Support contractor onboarding and performance evaluations.


Resource Planning & Coordination

  • Partner with scheduling and resource management teams to ensure adequate staffing and equipment availability.
  • Coordinate site mobilization tooling crane planning and logistics activities.
  • Support outage planning and customer availability tracking.
  • Ensure project readiness prior to field execution.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering Construction Management Business Project Management or related discipline; equivalent field experience considered.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in wind energy industrial construction heavy lift operations field services or related industries.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing Major Component Upgrades Blade projects or similar large-scale field operations.
  • Working knowledge of crane operations lift planning rigging practices and site logistics.
  • Experience supporting projects within prevailing wage environments.
  • Strong organizational communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Excel Smartsheet and project management tools.
  • PMP certification or equivalent project management training.
  • Experience with wind turbine major component exchanges.
  • Experience with blade repair or blade replacement projects.
  • Knowledge of labor compliance and certified payroll processes.
  • Experience managing subcontracted workforces.
  • Lean Six Sigma or continuous improvement training.
  • Experience working directly with utility-scale renewable energy customers.
