Job Summary

MVI is seeking an experienced Project Manager III to work onsite at our offices in Orlando FL who knows how to turn complex requirements into organized successful project delivery. This role is for a strong project leader who can see the big picture while staying on top of the detailsscope schedule budget resources risks quality and communication.

The Project Manager III owns projects from award through completion and serves as a key connection point between project teams cross-functional partners leadership customers vendors and other stakeholders. Success in this role requires more than maintaining a project plan. We are looking for someone who anticipates challenges drives accountability communicates clearly and keeps teams moving toward the finish line.


What Youll Do

Project Planning & Execution

  • Own assigned projects from award through successful completion with accountability for scope schedule budget labor resources and deliverables.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans timelines milestones budgets and resource allocations.
  • Establish clear project objectives responsibilities deadlines and success criteria.
  • Manage project scope and ensure proposed changes or scope creep are identified documented evaluated and approved by the appropriate stakeholders.
  • Adjust project plans and resource allocations as priorities requirements or project conditions change.
  • Maintain visibility into project progress and ensure teams remain aligned with contractual and organizational expectations.

Team Leadership

  • Lead cross-functional and multi-disciplinary project teams with a focus on accountability collaboration communication and results.
  • Set clear expectations for project team members and ensure responsibilities and deadlines are understood.
  • Facilitate effective project meetings that drive decisions ownership and measurable next steps.
  • Identify roadblocks and proactively work with team members and leadership to resolve them.
  • Foster an environment where issues are raised early rather than becoming last-minute surprises.

Stakeholder & Customer Management

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for project stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide clear accurate and timely updates regarding project status milestones risks budget schedule and deliverables.
  • Coordinate communication between project teams customers leadership external vendors and other stakeholders.
  • Manage expectations and escalate significant risks delays resource constraints or changes when appropriate.

Risk Management

  • Proactively identify project risks dependencies constraints and potential obstacles.
  • Develop and maintain mitigation and contingency plans.
  • Monitor risks throughout the project lifecycle and communicate emerging concerns before they impact delivery.
  • Escalate critical risks with recommended solutions and clearly defined next steps.

Performance Monitoring & Project Controls

  • Track project performance using established project management tools metrics and reporting processes.
  • Monitor task completion milestones budgets labor hours schedules and resource utilization.
  • Identify at-risk activities and implement corrective actions or recovery plans.
  • Use project data to identify trends forecast challenges and support informed decision-making.
  • Ensure project information and reporting remain accurate and current.

Quality Assurance

  • Ensure project deliverables meet established quality standards contractual requirements customer expectations and specifications.
  • Partner with project teams to identify and resolve quality concerns before final delivery.
  • Support continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned and applying them to future projects.

Documentation & Communication

  • Maintain comprehensive and audit-ready project documentation including project plans schedules budgets meeting records status reports decisions risks and change documentation.
  • Prepare agendas meeting notes action items project summaries and leadership updates.
  • Ensure project records accurately reflect project decisions commitments and status.

Requirements

What Were Looking For

  • Bachelors degree in project management Business Administration Engineering Information Technology or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 5 years of progressive project management experience preferably managing complex technical government defense software simulation or similarly structured projects.
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects with responsibility for budgets schedules labor resources risks and deliverables.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies processes and project controls.
  • Proven ability to identify risks solve problems manage competing priorities and drive projects to completion.
  • Strong written verbal presentation and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical teams business leaders customers and external partners.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with project management and collaboration tools.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment where priorities and requirements may evolve.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP CAPM Scrum Agile or other recognized project management certification.
  • Experience supporting U.S. Government or Department of Defense contracts and customers.
  • Familiarity with government contracting requirements project cost controls and compliance-driven environments.
  • Experience managing software development XR/VR simulation training technology or other technical projects.
  • Experience working with Agile Waterfall or hybrid project management methodologies.
  • Travel required up to 30% of the time.
