Job Summary

We are looking for a Project Manager with over 6 years of data center hyperscale campus infrastructure and large scale telecom OSP infrastructure projects to manage our large clients high profile project assignment in Monroe LA.

About the Role
Our client a specialty telecommunications and infrastructure contractor is seeking a Project Manager to lead fiber outside plant (OSP) and structured cabling work on a hyperscale AI data center campus.

You will run day-to-day field execution crews schedule and budget and serve as the primary on-site contact for the general contractors program team. You will report to the Program Management Office. The end customer is confidential and will be disclosed during the interview process.


Key Responsibilities
  • Own the full project lifecycle for fiber and structured cabling scope from planning and mobilization through testing turnover and closeout.
  • Lead deployment of fiber optic and copper cabling for a high-density AI compute environment including pre-terminated and high-fiber-count systems.
  • Build and maintain the master CPM schedule WBS and governance plan and manage multi-year phasing across a multi-building campus.
  • Coordinate daily with the GCs engineering and construction teams and other trades (electrical mechanical security) on sequencing and site access.
  • Manage crews and vendors for cable placement splicing and testing including staffing production tracking and quality assurance.
  • Oversee fiber testing and turnover to TIA/EIA and ISO/IEC standards: OTDR insertion/return loss Tier 1/Tier 2 acceptance MTP/MPO validation splice certification review and as-built documentation.
  • Manage project financials including forecasting pay application review change orders and margin protection.
  • Support SOW development pricing discussions and change order negotiations with the GC.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks and resolve field issues RFIs and constructability conflicts in real time.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA NESC prevailing wage requirements and site security protocols for a live mission-critical facility.
  • Coordinate material logistics including procurement and site staging.
  • Deliver daily and weekly production reports two-week look-aheads and status updates to company leadership and the GC.
  • Prepare closeout packages for GC and customer acceptance.
  • Use PenguinData and Power BI for schedule production and financial visibility.
Required Qualifications
  • 6 years managing data center campus or large-scale telecom OSP construction projects.
  • Direct experience overseeing fiber and structured cabling installation splicing and testing/turnover including high-density and pre-terminated systems.
  • Working knowledge of OTDR and certification testing SMF/MMF and MTP/MPO connectivity and Tier 1/Tier 2 test documentation.
  • Familiarity with TIA/EIA and ISO/IEC standards and the discipline to hold crews and vendors to them.
  • Experience managing labor crews and vendors across multiple concurrent work areas.
  • Proficiency with CPM scheduling (MS Project or equivalent) MS Office and Bluebeam.
  • Ability to read construction drawings splice diagrams and fiber route maps.
  • Strong financial acumen in budgeting forecasting and change order management.
  • Bachelors degree in Construction Management Engineering or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Valid drivers license and ability to pass a background check and site security screening.
  • Ability to work on active construction sites lift up to 50 lbs and walk extended distances in varying indoor and outdoor conditions.
  • Must live in or relocate to the Monroe LA area before start (relocation assistance available). This is not a rotational or fly-in/fly-out role.

Preferred Qualifications
  • PMP or equivalent project management credential.
  • FOA CFOT/CFOS or comparable fiber certification.
  • Experience on hyperscale AI/ML or colocation data center programs.
  • Davis-Bacon or other prevailing wage compliance experience.
  • Familiarity with emerging fiber technologies (multicore hollow-core).
  • Comfort presenting to senior stakeholders on both the contractor and GC sides.
