Job Summary
We are seeking a Project Geotechnical Engineer to join our Bay Area team in San Jose Walnut Creek or Alameda CA. The successful candidate will manage geotechnical forensic and construction projects working closely with clients and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage geotechnical forensic and construction projects
- Interact directly with clients and manage project budgets
- Coordinate and participate in field activities including:
- Logging borings test pits trenches and cores
- Evaluating geologic and seismic hazards
- Performing forensic evaluations of distressed structures and failed slopes
- Perform engineering analyses including:
- Foundation design and evaluation
- Slope stability analysis
- Settlement analysis
- Prepare geotechnical engineering proposals and technical reports
- Provide technical support and mentorship to staff engineers geologists and field technicians
Qualifications :
Required Qualifications
- California Professional Engineering (PE) license REQUIRED
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering Geotechnical Engineering Geological Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of geotechnical engineering experience; experience with a geotechnical consulting firm preferred.
- Strong understanding of soil mechanics geotechnical engineering principles and subsurface investigation methods.
- Experience with field exploration soil classification geotechnical analyses and report preparation.
- Ability to perform technical calculations and interpret laboratory and field data.
- Strong organizational analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Positive attitude strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters degree in Geotechnical Engineering Engineering Geology or related engineering discipline preferred.
- Experience with geotechnical software used for slope stability settlement liquefaction and foundation analyses.
- Experience providing construction observation and geotechnical field support services.
- Familiarity with Bay Area geologic and geotechnical conditions.
