As a Project Engineer you will provide mid-level engineering/technical expertise on complex electric transmission design projects for high-voltage (HV) overhead utility systems.
Specifically the position prepares reviews and/or provides guidance for line routing survey coordination PLS-CADD modeling structure design foundation design clearance checks plan/profile development material specification and procurement constructability evaluations work order package preparation permitting vendor/subcontractor coordination and construction support.
- Develop and approve PLS-CADD Criteria
- Finalize PLS-CADD models
- Schedule project tasks for project support team
- Attend client stakeholder meetings
- Complete design review meetings with the client
- Provide input on special design questions
- Attend internal design review meetings
- Bachelors in Engineering (required)
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification (preferred)
- 4 years of related transmission line engineering experience in the electric utility industry (required)
- Experience in using PLS-CADD for designing transmission lines (required)
- Experience with design codes and standards such as NESC IEEE ASCE and ACI
- Experience with liaising substation transmission environmental real estate construction and maintenance stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability in the application of engineering theories and principles
- Increasingly proficient in practices of researching engineering and design issues evaluating alternatives preparing and presenting
- Ability to work in a safe manner and always obey safety regulations
- Ability to be a self-starter and thrive in an unstructured varied and deadline- driven work environment
- Strong ability to collaborate with team members and peers in the electrical utility industry
- Effective communication skills (verbal written and presentation)
- Demonstrated verbal and technical writing skills
- Candidate must be able to pass a drug screen background check and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the companys driving (MVR) policy
