Job Summary:
The Onshore Project Engineer is responsible for supporting the planning coordination execution and close-out of onshore projects by providing engineering oversight and technical guidance from concept development through construction commissioning and start up. The Onshore Project Engineer works closely with internal multidisciplinary engineering & design teams vendors subcontractors client operators and other key stakeholders to ensure deliverables are executed safely efficiently and in compliance with applicable codes specifications regulations and company quality standards. The project engineer provides leadership throughout all phases of project execution including scope development engineering design procurement fabrication and construction support.
Responsibilities:
- Provide overall project coordination and engineering technical oversight on assigned onshore projects.
- Uses knowledge of general engineering principles theories concepts and industry practices and standards to lead engineering and design teams to achieve project goals.
- Participates in planning scope and cost development & scheduling for assigned projects. Supports change management.
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with Arion Quality Management System. Monitor QA/QC of project and coordinate with others as needed to resolve any design or process issues.
- Monitors and identifies risks and areas of concern with respect to progress of assigned project recommend the corrective actions wherever required and execute when directed by the client.
- Directs activities to ensure that engineering and design deliverables meet specifications recognized codes and standards and customer requirements.
- Maintains effective communication with project team members and with the client. Takes a leadership role in regular project meetings to collect and disseminate information pertaining to the project including model reviews P&ID reviews HAZOP and other HSE risk assessments.
- Coordinates with project team on travel including walkdowns vendor FAT onshore site visits etc.
- Maintains action and design registers of assigned projects.
- Uses computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
- Coordinates with buyer/expeditor and package engineers on procurement activities including technical & commercial bid evaluations requests for information (RFIs) vendor data reviews and inspections.
- Promotes and supports interdisciplinary coordination. Promotes knowledge sharing and contributes to the development of a collaborative and innovative engineering culture.
- Performs related duties as needed.
Qualifications
Qualifications / Education Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in process mechanical civil electrical engineering preferred.
- Strong technical knowledge of engineering design and construction of onshore equipmentor facilities.
- 5 years of experience managing a team of project discipline engineers and designers.
- Recent project engineering management experience in engineering firm.
- Experience with individual project sizes of $1M or greater.
- Possess good interpersonal skills and excellent verbal/written communication skills.
- Experience in onshore projects preferred.
- P.E. License preferred.
Software:
- Familiarity with Primavera P6 software.
- Experience with EcoSys.
- Familiarity with Adobe Pro Drawboard and Bluebeam Revu.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word Excel PowerPoint Teams Outlook SharePoint OneNote) preferred.
- Some software capabilities with AutoCAD and Microsoft Visio preferred.
- Familiarity with FusionLive (Document Control).
Working Conditions:
- Work is primarily conducted in an office environment but may require occasional travel to off-site work locations.
- Field duties may require outdoor work in a plant or facility.
- When on field assignment you may be required to work in a plant and/or shop areas around production machinery subject to varying temperatures and noise.
- May be at more than one job site in a day and must be able to tolerate climate changes.
- May be required to travel out of town on a periodic basis.
