Job Overview
As a Project Engineer Intern you will not sit on the sidelines. We tailor your placement prior to your start date to match your specific career interests - whether that is in project management estimating or another business unit. Depending on the track you will work out of the office on active commercial jobsites or a mix of both. No matter what your area of focus is you will work directly with a dedicated team and have a personally assigned 1-to-1 mentor to act as your coach provide regular feedback and ensure you gain marketable real-world experience.
The internship concludes with a final professional review of your time at Raymond. This gives you a direct opportunity to step into a professional conversation with our Executive and Operations Team to share exactly what you achieved over the summer.
Typical Responsibilities
Depending on your specific role and department placement your summer experience may include activities such as:
- Project Administration & Operations: Participating in contract reviews processing submittals managing RFI logs and assisting with purchase orders and change orders.
- Project Lifecycle: Contributing to initial project take-offs and compiling final project close-out documentation.
- Planning & Scheduling: Assisting our professionals in tracking and maintaining master schedules to ensure cost safety and quality benchmarks are met.
- Team Collaboration: Attending internal operational and departmental meetings to see firsthand how decisions are made.
- Field Exposure: Visiting active project construction sites to see our specialty craftsmanship in action and watch our planning become a reality.
- Quality & Safety Walks: Reviewing active project sites to observe safety standards and conduct quality-control inspections alongside our experts.
- A 10-Week Program: Our internship is a competitive full-time and fully paid summer position.

The Essentials (Required)
- Education or Experience: Actively pursuing a Construction Management Engineering or equivalent degree (GPA of 2.5 or higher) OR possess at least two (2) years of construction field experience.
- Collaborative Mindset: A strong enthusiasm for learning the business and a team-first attitude ready to work alongside any group.
- Field Exposure: Prior experience working on a commercial construction site.
- Safety Mindset: Completion of OSHA 10-hour training or equivalent safety programs.
- Technical Skills: The ability to read blueprints.
