Job Summary

AECOM is hiring a Project Controls Senior Cost Engineer that will provide technical expertise and analytical support for cost engineering and financial-control functions across multiple projects. This position is responsible for maintaining cost integrity monitoring project and program financial performance supporting forecasting and change management and contributing to accurate and timely financial reporting.

The successful candidate will work closely with project leadership construction management teams project controls personnel contractors and other stakeholders to ensure costs are properly tracked analyzed forecasted and reported in accordance with established program procedures.

Responsibilities include:

  • Support the development implementation and maintenance of program and project cost-control procedures tools and reporting standards.
  • Develop maintain and monitor project and program budgets commitments actual costs accruals forecasts and Estimate at Completion (EAC).
  • Track and analyze cost performance across multiple projects contracts and funding sources.
  • Identify cost trends variances risks and emerging issues and communicate their potential financial impacts to project leadership.
  • Support Construction Management teams with contractor payment applications change orders Schedule of Values (SOV) reviews and cost-compliance requirements.
  • Review invoices payment applications and supporting documentation for accuracy completeness and consistency with contractual requirements.
  • Support the evaluation and tracking of change orders potential changes contingency usage allowances and forecasted cost impacts.
  • Maintain accurate cost records cost reports change logs commitment registers and other financial-control documentation.
  • Apply Earned Value Management principles and other performance-measurement techniques as required to assess project cost performance.
  • Reconcile cost information between the PMIS financial systems contractor records and other project data sources.
  • Prepare high-quality weekly and monthly cost reports forecasts dashboards and presentations for senior management clients and other stakeholders.
  • Support program-level consolidation and reporting of financial information across multiple projects and contracts.
  • Assist with cash-flow projections funding analyses cost trending and management reporting.
  • Support audit readiness by maintaining complete accurate and traceable cost documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with established program financial controls reporting requirements change management procedures and approval authorities.
  • Participate in weekly and monthly project and program meetings and present cost-related information as required.
  • Collaborate with scheduling risk change management document control procurement and construction teams to support integrated project controls.

Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Construction Management Engineering Architecture or a related discipline plus eight years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Experience with construction contracts cost structures Schedule of Values and change management processes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using cost-control software financial systems and PMIS platforms such as Kahua Procore e-Builder InEight PMWeb or comparable.
  • Proven ability to analyze complex budgets across multiple projects and contracts
  • Expertise with cost control software PMIS and financial systems such as Kahua
  • Proficiency in SharePoint and MS Office (Excel advanced functions strongly preferred)
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent verbal written and numerical communication skills in a client-facing capacity
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating within multidisciplinary teams
  • Commitment to continuous professional growth including adoption of emerging technologies and best practices in cost management
  • Ability to maintain the highest level of discretion and confidentiality
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) / Certified Cost Professional (CCP) / Professional Cost Estimator / Analyst (PCEA) certifications are a plus.
