Job Description
Position Summary
The Senior Project Control Analyst plays a critical role in supporting the financial planning cost management forecasting and performance monitoring of government programs and projects. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining program budgets analyzing financial performance supporting proposal pricing efforts and providing actionable insights to program leadership to ensure successful project execution.
The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical capabilities a thorough understanding of government contracting principles and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. Key Responsibilities
- Develop maintain and analyze program budgets cost estimates forecasts and financial plans to support successful project execution.
- Prepare and manage monthly spend plans ensuring alignment with project objectives funding requirements and financial reporting requirements.
- Monitor project performance against budget identifying risks opportunities and cost variances while recommending corrective actions when necessary.
- Support proposal development and pricing activities across a variety of government contract types including Cost Plus Time & Material and Firm Fixed Price contracts.
- Provide detailed cost and schedule analysis performance reporting and decision-support recommendations to project managers and senior leadership.
- Partner with program management contracts supply chain operations manufacturing and finance teams to ensure timely accurate and compliant project execution.
- Support monthly quarterly and annual forecasting processes including revenue cost profit and cash flow projections.
- Develop and maintain project performance metrics dashboards and management reporting tools to support data-driven decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with company policies customer requirements and applicable government regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting Business Administration Economics Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in project controls program finance cost control budgeting pricing or financial analysis within a government contracting environment.
- Strong understanding of government contract structures project planning cost management forecasting and financial reporting methodologies.
- Experience supporting proposal pricing and financial strategy for government contracts.
- Advanced analytical problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present financial information and recommendations to various levels of management.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities adapt to changing business needs and perform effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting manufacturing production or complex development programs.
- Experience supporting Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contracts.
- Knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM) integrated program management and project performance measurement techniques.
- Experience with Costpoint Cognos Power BI or similar financial and reporting systems.
- Familiarity with FAR DFARS and government contracting compliance requirements.
