Job Summary

Prepares monitors and coordinates contracts to assure timely and successful completion with contractual requirements; provides construction phase services to ensure compliance with specifications. Resolves conflicts between the utility and contractors and ensures coordination of project completion to keep interruptions of plant operations to a minimum. Manages assigned special projects requiring complex analytical research and organizational skills. Serves as On-Call Supervisor on rotating schedule for plant related emergencies after hours and Qualifications: High school diploma or GED Associate Degree or equivalent preferred; and four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in water/wastewater plants; or any combination of education training and experience which provides the required knowledge skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job. Valid State Commercial Drivers License. Must be or become Missouri Class D Water Operator Licensed within first six (6) months of hire. Must complete required NIMS level training within first six (6) months of hire. Thorough knowledge of operation construction and maintenance of a water production and wastewater treatment facility and related equipment; Record keeping report preparation filing methods and records organization skills; project management principals and practices including inspection documentation and plan updates; safety procedures utilized on construction sites; computer applications related to the work; Skill in reading and interpreting construction plans specifications engineering and architectural drawings; and ability to communicate effectively with the public both verbally and in Demands: Frequently required to stand walk sit use hands to finger handle or feel reach with hands and arms climb or balance talk or hear and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Typical Working Conditions: Work is performed in a normal office environment as well as outside construction sites. While performing the essential functions of this position the employee may be exposed to outdoor temperatures odors dirt and dust work near moving mechanical parts electrical hazards toxic or caustic chemicals fumes loud noises extreme heights and confined spaces.
