Job Summary

Position Overview

Nexus Circular is seeking a Project Analyst to support the continued development of our Project Management Office (PMO) and execution of major capital projects.

This is an early-career position appropriate for a recent college graduate or candidate with up to several years of relevant experience. The role is designed to provide hands-on exposure to project management project controls engineering procurement construction scheduling and cost management within an industrial capital-project environment.

The Project Analyst will work closely with experienced project managers engineers construction personnel finance procurement and other functional leaders to help maintain project schedules track costs and commitments coordinate activities develop reporting and identify issues requiring follow-up.

In the near term this role will support the 6B project and other Nexus capital initiatives helping improve alignment across disciplines and providing the project team and leadership with accurate timely information for decision-making.

Improve Schedule Certainty

Support the integration of engineering procurement and construction activities into project schedules and help identify potential misalignment dependencies and delays.

Enhance Cost Control & Forecasting

Assist with cost tracking commitments accruals forecasts and change management to improve overall financial visibility.

Enable Faster Decision-Making

Develop clear project reporting dashboards analyses and status updates that allow project leadership to identify risks and make informed decisions.

Reduce Execution Risk

Help identify gaps inconsistencies outstanding actions and cross-functional dependencies before they affect field execution.

Scale the PMO Function

Support development of repeatable project-management processes templates reporting tools and standards that can be applied across future Nexus capital projects.

Key Responsibilities

Project Scheduling & Coordination 25%

  • Support the development and maintenance of integrated project schedules across engineering procurement and construction.
  • Work with project and discipline leads to collect schedule updates and validate activity status.
  • Assist with activity sequencing milestone tracking durations and dependencies.
  • Develop an understanding of critical-path scheduling and help identify activities that may affect project milestones.
  • Support development of short-term look-ahead schedules and project execution priorities.
  • Track actions and follow up with responsible team members to support timely completion.

EPC Integration 10%

  • Assist in aligning engineering deliverables with procurement requirements and construction execution plans.
  • Track key engineering procurement construction commissioning and startup milestones.
  • Participate in cross-functional project meetings and document actions decisions and required follow-up.
  • Help identify interfaces and dependencies between engineering vendors contractors and field execution.
  • Support coordination of project information across internal and external stakeholders.

Cost & Financial Support 20%

  • Assist with project cost tracking forecasting commitments invoices and accruals.
  • Support budget management and change-order tracking.
  • Help maintain project cost reports and supporting documentation.
  • Work with project managers and finance personnel to validate project cost information.
  • Assist with variance analysis between budget forecast commitments and actual costs.
  • Develop an understanding of capital-project financial controls and forecasting practices.

PMO Development & Project Controls 45%

  • Support development and implementation of PMO standards templates procedures and reporting tools.
  • Build and maintain dashboards and reporting structures for project and leadership visibility.
  • Assist in collecting validating and organizing project performance data.
  • Support development of standardized project controls and governance processes.
  • Maintain project trackers for actions decisions risks changes procurement and other key deliverables.
  • Assist with preparation of project-management and leadership presentations.
  • Participate in lessons-learned activities and continuous improvement of project execution processes.
  • Take on increasing ownership of project controls and project-management activities as experience and capability develop.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering Construction Management Finance Business Administration Project Management or a related field.
  • 03 years of relevant professional experience. Recent college graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Relevant internship co-op academic project manufacturing construction engineering project-management or other technical experience may be considered in place of full-time professional experience.
  • Strong analytical organizational problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to organize and analyze data using Microsoft Excel and other common business applications.
  • Ability to work effectively across engineering construction finance procurement operations and project-management teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new technical concepts software and project-management processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to follow issues through resolution.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.

Preferred Experience

The following experience is beneficial but not required:

  • Internship co-op coursework or professional exposure related to project management project controls engineering construction manufacturing or finance.
  • Exposure to industrial chemical manufacturing energy oil and gas infrastructure or other capital-intensive environments.
  • Familiarity with project scheduling tools such as Primavera P6 Microsoft Project or similar software.
  • Familiarity with traditional waterfall project-management concepts including Gantt charts activity dependencies resource loading cost loading and critical-path analysis.
  • Exposure to project cost tracking forecasting or financial reporting.
  • Familiarity with engineering equipment procurement construction contracts or the EPC project lifecycle.
  • Experience developing dashboards reports or data analyses using Excel Power BI or similar tools.
  • Exposure to PMO project controls or project-governance frameworks.
