About the role

As the Program Engineering Manager for Babcock projects you will provide strategic leadership and day-to-day management of multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Youll be responsible for the delivery of complex engineering activities ensuring that all deliverables meet strict technical time cost and quality requirements.

Your role will be instrumental in aligning engineering resources tools and processes in accordance with Babcocks rigorous policies to deliver technical outcomes that support national defence capability. This role also plays a critical part in fostering collaboration across contracts to successfully deliver all capabilities.

You will drive technical excellence across the lifecycleleading investigations making complex engineering decisions managing technical risks and ensuring the production and maintenance of robust technical documentation.

About you

You are a seasoned engineering professional with a strong background in managing complex high-stakes programs within the defence or mission-critical systems domain. Your experience has honed your ability to lead technical teams balance competing priorities and make informed decisions throughout the engineering lifecycle.

Youre confident in your ability to communicate technical information clearly to a variety of stakeholders and thrive in a fast-paced collaborative environment where accuracy safety and compliance are paramount.

Your leadership style promotes capability growth knowledge sharing and talent development. Youre passionate about mentoring team members driving process improvements and building sustainable engineering practices.

With an excellent understanding of design integration and support techniquesand a keen awareness of emerging technologiesyoure ready to deliver innovative solutions that not only meet the needs of the program but also contribute to the broader goals of Babcock and the communities we serve.

Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Conduct singledomain technical investigations and analysis to generate data that supports problem assessment resolution and the design of improvements.
• Plan deliver and monitor your own tasks ensuring all requirements are met to the agreed time quality and cost standards.
• Apply your technical knowledge to produce highquality documentation and solutions in support of assigned tasks in line with the applicable Delegation of Authority.
• Support the creation and maintenance of accurate technical documentation ensuring records are securely stored within the appropriate datamanagement systems to enable effective throughlife knowledge capture.

You will bring your tertiary qualification in a related technical discipline with solid understanding of applicable engineering toolsets. Youll be eligible for membership of a relevant professional body with a zest for continuous learning.

To be successful you will have:

• Australian Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance

• Extensive experience in relatable technical/engineering roles.
• Proven experience in managing applicable engineering function and/or technical delivery.
• An in-depth understanding of applicable engineering toolsets (e.g. PLM or MRP systems design simulation and analysis software).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong computer skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team to achieve desired results.
