About the Role:

The Program Coordinator is a dual-role position that combines classroom teaching with instructional leadership and coaching. This role leads a classroom while also supporting and mentoring teachers to strengthen curriculum quality consistency and classroom practices. The Coordinator helps ensure a connected high-quality program aligned with the values of Meaningful Beginnings.


Key Responsibilities


Lead Teacher Duties:

  • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate play-based curriculum
  • Support learning in literacy math science arts and social-emotional development
  • Observe children and maintain developmental portfolios
  • Maintain a safe structured and engaging classroom environment
  • Manage daily routines transitions and classroom organization
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding child progress
  • Ensure compliance with Title 22 licensing and documentation requirements

Program & Coaching Support

  • Support curriculum planning across classrooms (06 years)
  • Conduct classroom walkthroughs and provide feedback to teachers
  • Coach and mentor teachers and assistants through modeling and guidance
  • Support onboarding and training of new staff
  • Help maintain consistency in classroom quality and program practices
  • Assist with classroom coverage when needed to maintain ratios
  • Support staff collaboration and professional development activities

Qualifications:

  • 24 ECE units including Infant/Toddler coursework required
  • 23 years of teaching experience (Lead Teacher experience preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of child development and classroom management
  • Understanding of Title 22 licensing requirements
  • Ability to coach and support other educators
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • CPR/First Aid certified or willing to obtain
  • Teacher Permit preferred
