Job Summary

Summary

Serves as a Program Assistant and is responsible for providing computer systems administrative security and budget support for all WHAO personnel and inspectors working in field processing facilities.


Duties
  • The duties described are for the full-performance level. At developmental grade levels assignments will be of more limited scope performed with less independence and limited complexity.
  • The duties may include but are not limited to:
  • Uses a personal computer with a variety of software packages to develop forms reports and spreadsheets and/or produce lists reports and charts in final form.
  • Participates in the development and maintenance of databases revision and/or updates of existing programs and the troubleshooting of computer systems and communications services.
  • Responsible for the operation of a light activation credentialing center to assist Division and local Agency personnel with activation and updating of security credentials.
  • Provides support and training of personnel using computer systems and programs.
  • Maintains inventories of computers and computer-related items as well as computer-generated forms catalogs and lists.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement including specialized experience and/or education as defined below.

FOR THE GS-06 LEVEL: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-05 level) that may have been obtained in the private or public (local county state Federal) sectors which demonstrates:

  • Use common/standard office suite software to prepare correspondence meeting notes reports calendars presentations and spreadsheets.
  • Assist with administrative tasks related to Time and attendance travel billing and/or collections.
  • Provide advice and assistance to users on computer-related issues.
Note: There is no education substitution for this grade level.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g. professional philanthropic religious spiritual community student social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience including volunteer experience.
