Job Summary

Overview

The School of Teacher Education and Leadership (TEAL) Graduate Program is seeking applicants for a Program Assistant I position.
Incumbents in the Program Assistant series perform a combination of program-related and/or administrative functions that support
community social instructional and/or research programs; and/or coordinate people events or facilities. This position will be expected to
work 30 hours per week.


The Program Assistant I will report to the TEAL Graduate Program Coordinator. This classification may train and guide student and/or part-time employees.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Provides support to Graduate Program Coordinator administrators faculty academic and/or research staff.
  • Performs office duties including electronic filing and updating documents with a keen eye for organization and attention to detail.
  • Represents the program/department in a positive manner with students staff faculty and the community.
  • Seeks ways to improve efficiency of services and works with the Graduate Program Coordinator to streamline procedures.
  • Assists with website updates and content.
  • Provides support in writing editing and coordinating the development of promotional materials educational materials training manuals and/or brochures.
  • Guides current students and prospective students about graduate program specific requirements regulations services etc.
  • Assists with program/department activities including recruitment conferences and events.
  • Supports the student application process and review for graduate school.
  • Assists Graduate Program Coordinator with training instruction and/or consultation to students faculty and/or staff in the use of dedicated services.
  • Compiles and distributes notes following graduate committee meetings.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

  • Ability to take initiative and work without close supervision.
