Program Assistant

For more than 25 years U.S. Dream Academy has worked to empower children and young people through academic support character development and mentoring with a special focus on children impacted by incarceration. We partner with schools and communities to provide young people with the support relationships and opportunities they need to reach their potential.

TheProgram Assistantis an essential part of our Learning Center team and works directly with elementary and middle school students during after-school programming. This role is ideal for someone with experience inyouth development and/or educationwho enjoys engaging with young people supporting their academic and personal growth and helping create a positive and structured environment where students can thrive.

Were looking for someone who can:

• Work directly with students during daily after-school programming
• Provide homework and academic support and assist with enrichment activities
• Facilitate activities and keep students engaged and actively participating
• Help maintain a safe welcoming structured and youth-centered environment
• Support smooth student transitions and daily program routines
• Build positive and appropriate relationships with students and families
• Work collaboratively with the Program Associate Program Coordinator Center Director and other program staff
• Bring patience consistency dependability and positive energy to the Learning Center
• Understand and respond appropriately to the needs of elementary and middle school students

Experience working with children or youth in aschool after-school program summer program mentoring program recreation program or similar settingis strongly educators are encouraged to apply.

Position Details

Part-Time Onsite in Baltimore MD 3:30 PM6:30 PM

Although this is a part-time position eligible employees receivepaid time off sick leave and paid holidays.

This is a great opportunity for an educator youth development professional or someone with strong experience working with young people who wants meaningful hands-on work without a full-time schedule.
