Job Summary
This position is located in the Division of Consumer Response and Operations (DCRO) in the Bureau of Consumer Protection (BCP) at the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) in Washington D.C. BCP through its consumer protection work in eight divisions and eight FTC regional offices carries out the Commissions mandate to protect the American public from unfair and deceptive acts and practices in the marketplace. To qualify for the Program Analyst at the GS-13 level you must meet the following requirements:
You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following types of tasks: providing guidance to management and staff related to federal contracting and federal acquisition laws and regulations; developing monitoring revising and implementing procedures to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of acquisition operations; tracking the progress of acquisition activities and discussing complex contract issues; serving in the role of Contracting Officers Representative (COR) or as a subject matter expert in administering contracts ensuring resources are provided invoices are paid on time and deliverables are met; and independently participating in meetings with other offices to track the progress of projects and troubleshoot issues.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g. professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community student social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies knowledge and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience including volunteer experience.
There is no education substitution for specialized experience at this grade level.
