Job Summary
MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:The primary purpose of this job is to lead direct and indirect labor employees involved in the manufacturing of a process area. Manage assigned company resources (personnel equipment and materials) while collaborating with Planning Engineering Quality and Maintenance personnel to achieve work schedules and satisfy customer requirements in an efficient and cost-effective manner. The Production Manager has complete ownership of SQDIP metrics across multiple departments and RESPONSIBILITIES:Adheres to Viants Core Beliefs and all safety and quality direction in the resolution of technical and production-related problems to assure completion of weekly schedules that meet or exceed Company and Customer the alignment of product or line(s) with master production schedule and material planning to meet production in customer facing activities including the SIOP and continuous improvement activities including Kaizen eventsMonitors departmental performance measures including visual controls and provides regular progress work orders are closed in Oracle and data is adherence to policies and Associates (40) in a manner that fosters a safe work environment and self-directed team continuous communication to Plant management on production facility and Associate accomplishments and/or arranges and/or provides training to ensure a safe efficient quality work environment with focus on continuous improvement through Lean manufacturing communication coordination and conflict resolution within and among work leadership to Associates in all areas including: hiring performance management reviews coaching counseling and corrective in the analysis of production and related processes and makes recommendations on improvements and organization of process improvement activity through the application of Six-Sigma & Lean Manufacturing an atmosphere of diversity open communication and trust affording opportunities for training and flexible to the needs of the business and performs other functions as to the Operations Manager when REQUIREMENTS:Knowledge/Education:High School Diploma or EquivalentAssociates Bachelor Degree in Operations/Engineering or Business preferredDemonstrated product and assembly or machine shop experience and knowledge; minimum of 5 years in a supervisory or lead role capacityDemonstrated effective communication and leadership skills; strong ability to work cooperatively with others in a team-based environment and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to deliver required business resultsJob Experience:At least 5 years experience in relevant manufacturing preferredSkills/Competencies:Strong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to read and write in English Ability to follow verbal and written instructionsPerforms basic arithmetic calculationsAbility to work well independently and with fellow team membersAttention to detail and organization skillsFinger dexterity- the ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp manipulate or assemble very small componentsPhysical Requirements:Excellent vision and hand-eye coordinationExtended periods of bending lifting sitting and standingSignificant use of handsOccasionally required to lift up to 40 be able and willing to wear personal protective equipment as required including:Protective eyewearProtective gowning (i.e: Hairnet Safety Shoes covers Gown/Apron Safety Glasses gloves)It is impossible to list every requirement for or responsibility of any position.
