Position Summary
The Maintenance Technician III coordinates daily work direction for manufacturing personnel and supports departmental goals training quality troubleshooting and project activities.
Responsibilities
- Assist the supervisor in supporting and developing action plans to achieve departmental goals.
- Coach train motivate and enhance the morale and self-esteem of manufacturing personnel.
- Disposition and process discrepant products or materials for rework or MRB according to procedures.
- Ensure manufacturing personnel follow appropriate procedures.
- Understand all operations support systems including traceability and documentation systems.
- Provide feedback for use in performance appraisals and periodic coaching of manufacturing personnel.
- Ensure the training of new manufacturing personnel on the team.
- Act as a liaison between manufacturing and support groups such as Engineering Technicians Production Control and Management.
- When the supervisor is absent may temporarily act as supervisor.
- Plan and organize project assignments of substantial variety and complexity.
- Initiate or maintain schedules for projects and project milestones.
- Establish priorities for project assignments.
- Solve complex problems requiring extensive interpretation of procedures and practices to provide leadership in evolving projects.
- Select methods and practices to solve problems using ingenuity creativity and a high degree of independent action and initiative.
- Propose solutions independently and make decisions on projects.
- Develop and implement projects from concept to completion.
Education
- High School Diploma/GED required or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Associate Degree or some college credits preferred.
Experience / Background
- Minimum 6 years of related work experience.
- Extensive knowledge of business concepts procedures and practices with a complete understanding of fundamentals in a functional area and working knowledge of related disciplines.
- Ability to utilize and interpret advanced data to present documentation and analysis and resolve complex problems.
- Experience working in a quality system environment.
- Ability to work independently on extremely complex or specialized assignments and projects.
- May design develop or modify area-specific processes or procedures.
- Requires considerable judgment a high degree of initiative creative approaches to troubleshooting and the ability to make recommendations for continuous quality improvement of work methods.
