As a Production Manager at Terex/Genie based in Redmond WA youll play a pivotal role in leading the large slab operations team.
What youll do
Establishes a consolidated production plan and long range schedule that incorporates sales projections sales orders priorities for all Terex AWP products and available plant capacity materials and labor.
Employs computer-automated production planning forecasting and business simulation tools to assist with developing integrated production and material requirement plans.
Establishes regular communications with departments to ensure the companys master schedule is up-to-date and incorporates all confirmed sales orders anticipated demand product introductions and customer delivery requirements.
Initiates communications on employee relations matters such as promotions transfers attendance discipline work conditions and personal assistance. Resolve Team Member grievances and problems facilitating solutions or forwarding situations to higher authority. Conducts reviews of departmental Team Member performance.
Plans schedules and coordinates the flow of work between and among operating units. Communicates with Schedulers and Production Planners in the operating units to adjust master schedules based on short-term needs and variations.
Serves as a primary contact with sales manufacturing and logistics determining resource constraints and developing plans to achieve customers needs for all product lines.
Supervises and reviews computerized inventory of materials against present and anticipated sales orders. Develops reviews and may activate reorder points where judgment determines an anticipated shortfall.
Ensures that specific (usually complicated) sales orders are entered by others into the master schedule based on requested customer delivery dates availability of materials and equipment.
Maintains oversight over the master production schedules for each facility reviewing daily to adjust for changes in customer requirements delay in receiving materials availability of production equipment etc. Advises appropriate team members in the operating units and in sales of changes in the schedule.
Leads periodic production planning meetings that include representatives from sales production shipping customer service and materials departments.
Develops measure to improve production methods equipment performance and quality. Implements changes in working conditions and use of equipment and tools that improve work flow efficiency and Team Member safety.
Develops and ensures training for current and new team members. Communicates company philosophies and policies teaches and demonstrates work routines and documents performance.
Maintains records of day-to-day activity including time and materials process steps and occurrences of important issues or activities.
Ensures a safe and healthy work environment. Ensures that all Team Members are trained and observe safe practices.
Performs other duties as assigned that support the overall objective of the position.
What youll bring
The position requires seasoned specialized knowledge of production planning and inventory management. Requires in-depth knowledge of production practices of multiple product lines. Requires advanced problem solving skills to develop optimal solutions from large volumes of time sensitive and competing data develop alternative solutions and sequence action plans. Requires advanced math and statistics skills sufficient to integrate times quantities performance data and ratios. Requires skill at writing professional correspondence and reports. Requires sufficient human relations skills to facilitate small group presentations be persuasive in conveying schedules resolve conflicts and maintain harmony with internal and external customers. Requires strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot situations such as labor and material shortages plant safety tool and equipment problems while maintaining productivity.
Requires the ability to carry out all aspects of the position. Requires the ability to use advanced modeling tools to develop production and material requirement plans. Requires the ability to analyze large volumes of data under significant time pressure. Requires the ability to read and understand engineering documents and bill-of-material. Requires the ability to use computer-aided production planning and forecasting tools. Requires the ability to plan and manage annual and monthly budgets. Requires the ability to instruct others.
Requires ambulatory ability to tour manufacturing facilities on a recurring basis and sit for extended periods of time. Requires sufficient hand-arm-eye coordination to use a computer keyboard and retrieve work materials. Requires visual acuity to read words and numbers. Requires sufficient auditory ability to project voice to a small group and to carry on conversations over the phone and in person. Requires the ability to work extra hours on a daily basis if needed with short notice as production requires.
The position requires a Bachelors Degree in materials management business industrial engineering or the equivalent. Five years of hands-experience in assembly and/or fabrication processes in a Lean Manufacturing environment additional experience may substitute for some formal education
