Production Coordinator

Job Summary
As a member of MoMAs internal design studio the Production Coordinator supports the Museums brand onsite experience and visitor journey. This role coordinates projects across marketing education and member and development communications all aimed at driving reach and revenue. The Production Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that all materials are produced to specification within budget and on schedule.
Responsibilities
- Produces marketing/advertising material for visitation and membership acquisition and retention wayfinding and signage exhibition graphics and print and digital collateral for departments across the Museum. This includes:
- Supports the team with the production of exhibitions and exhibition-related projects such as title walls wall texts labels and facsimiles in close collaboration with curatorial and exhibition teams.
- Works with key stakeholders to produce museum signage and wayfinding assets.
- Conducts effective and solutions-oriented meetings and communications with clients to ensure optimal delivery of design assets.
- Color corrects and retouches ad images route traffic and acquire approvals.
- Working with vendors. This includes:
- Researches vendors and creates spec sheets for competitive price bids and estimates; usually multiple quotes based on design and quantity changes.
- Plans and maintains clients budget.
- Creates production schedules with vendor and manages it closely to ensure all parties adhere to deadlines.
- Oversees color correcting and proofing for pre-production and facilitates multiple departments approvals before the production begins.
- Travels to print locations for press checks which may take a half to full day (may include Westchester Long Island etc).
- Across the museum on a weekly basis oversees the production of all missing damaged or new signage requests especially urgent requests which can be installed without a vendor (e.g. magnetic letters and small vinyl icon/letters).
- Reviews invoices for payment of all the projects following up if payment is past due.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree with three to five years of experience in printing production/or related field.
- Thorough knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite.
- Excellent organization and communication skills as well as and problem solving techniques.
- Detail-oriented self-motivated strong managerial skills and an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience working with various print vendors writing project instructions reviewing proofs and managing timelines.
- Great client and vendor management skills and an ability to work well under pressure in a demanding environment.
- Passion for art a plus.
Reports to: Senior Production Manager
Salary Range: Minimum of $68190 to a maximum of $72893 per annum
