Product Security Engineer, SEAR

Youll be a part of the Apple Product Security Team at the forefront of Apples security impacting the breadth of Apples ecosystem by working on immediate risks to Apples customers. Working with some of the best security engineers in the world youll have a direct positive impact on the security of Apples products. Were looking for a hardworking and highly motivated engineers responsible to help investigate security issues across Apple products with the goal of better safeguarding our become part of an outstanding team focusing on securing iOS tvOS watchOS and macOS. Rooted in the Security Engineering and Architecture organization youll be working with a wide variety of teams and vendors. Your influence will be felt throughout Apples extraordinary products such as the iPhone iPad Mac Watch and Apple TV.n

You will be directly involved in Apples response to critical issues as they arise. From reverse engineering an exploit providing insightful analysis on vulnerabilities creating innovative tools to help find security bugs and collaborating with engineering teams on software issues the job is as diverse as it is critical. This position requires someone with strong technical strengths and an enthusiastic drive to secure systems by showing how they can be broken.n

The ideal candidate will be responsible for a mixture of our core work: assessing security vulnerabilities along with tool development to optimize our business operations. This will include contributions to our tool suite which supports our external security submission portal our triage and routing tools and our AI frameworks which power operations in security engineering and across Apple.

Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages (C C Objective C) for building robust security automation systemsnFamiliarity with common AI capabilities such as function calling and their application to security use casesnExperience with production deployment using containerization CI/CD pipelines and monitoring toolsnProven ability to analyze and investigate security issues through systematic approaches and toolingnUnderstanding of security principles including vulnerability classes exploit techniques and common attack vectorsnExcellent communication skills for collaborating across diverse technical teams and stakeholdersn

Experience developing or leveraging security tools such as fuzzers static/dynamic analyzers or vulnerability management platformsnField experience in vulnerability research incident response or security operationsnTrack record of shipping tools to large user bases in enterprise environments
