About the Role

The Product Owner Portfolio Management & Investment Implementation Systems is accountable for the vision roadmap prioritization and outcomes of the capabilities that enable Portfolio Managers and Portfolio Analysts to make investment decisions and move an investment idea into implemented compliant client portfolios. Scope covers portfolio construction target management investment implementation across constrained client accounts pre-trade guideline adherence and the orderly handoff of client-ready orders to the trading platform. These capabilities are enabled through Wellingtons Portfolio Management System (PMS) and Portfolio Implementation platform (referred to internally as OMS which is separate from our Trading execution platforms).


This role sits at the intersection of Investments Trading Implementation Operations Compliance Data and Technology. The Product Owner translates Investment Platform strategy and operating model priorities into a clear roadmap and prioritized backlog ensuring the firm can efficiently move from portfolio intent to implementation execution and downstream operational processing.


The Product Owner is accountable for what is delivered when it is delivered and why it matters. This includes ownership of product vision roadmap priorities sequencing decisions capacity allocation backlog management and outcome realization. Technology partners are accountable for how solutions are designed built supported and sustained.


RESPONSIBILITIES
Product Vision Strategy & Roadmap

  • Define and evolve the product vision and roadmap for PMS and OMS capabilities aligned with Investment Platform strategy and the target operating model.

  • Translate business priorities and operating model objectives into a sequenced roadmap focused on measurable business outcomes.

  • Own the business outcomes and value delivered through PMS and OMS capabilities ensuring investments improve adoption workflow efficiency handoff readiness to the trading platform and the effectiveness of portfolio construction implementation and order management workflows.

  • Establish product objectives success measures and adoption goals.

  • Partner with business stakeholders and technology partners to align capabilities with future-state workflows and the Investment Platform operating model.


Product Ownership & Prioritization

  • Own and prioritize the PMS and OMS product backlog.

  • Own roadmap commitments sequencing decisions and capacity allocation trade-offs.

  • Balance competing demands across Investments Trading Implementation Operations Compliance Risk Data and Technology.

  • Make transparent trade-offs based on business value risk dependencies and delivery capacity.


Investment Lifecycle Capabilities & Delivery

  • Own the vision roadmap and outcomes for capabilities supporting portfolio construction target capture and monitoring investment implementation across constrained client accounts exposure and dispersion management client guideline adherence and orderly order handoff to the trading platform.

  • Partner with Portfolio Managers Portfolio Analysts Investment Implementation teams Compliance and investment leadership to evolve future-state PM & PA workflows and user experiences.

  • Engage regularly with end users and stakeholders to validate priorities gather feedback and ensure delivered capabilities create measurable value.

  • Manage dependencies with the trading platform (O/EMS) data analytics compliance risk and operational platforms to deliver integrated investment workflows end-to-end.


Stakeholder Management & Adoption

  • Serve as the primary product representative for business stakeholders and technology delivery teams.

  • Build alignment across Investments Trading Implementation Operations Compliance Risk Data and Technology.

  • Drive adoption stakeholder engagement and realization of business value.

Agile Delivery & Innovation

  • Lead backlog refinement prioritization release planning and product acceptance activities.

  • Participate actively in Agile planning and review activities to ensure teams understand priorities outcomes and success measures.

  • Identify and prioritize AI and advanced analytics opportunities that improve investment workflows decision support automation and operational efficiency.


WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

  • Portfolio managers portfolio analysts and implementation/trading teams view the product as a strategic enabler of the investment process helping the firm move efficiently from portfolio intent to execution.

  • Product priorities are transparent outcome-oriented and aligned with the Investment Platform operating model.

  • Investment workflows are efficient scalable and supported by trusted data effective controls and measurable improvements in user adoption and business outcomes.


QUALIFICATIONS

EXPERIENCE

  • 10 years of experience in asset management or financial services with significant experience supporting portfolio management implementation trading investment operations or investment technology capabilities.

  • Deep understanding of portfolio management investment implementation order management and front-to-back investment workflows.

  • Experience working closely with portfolio managers & investment analysts risk data and technology teams. Experience working with traders operations compliance is considered a plus.

  • Experience defining product strategy roadmaps backlogs and delivery priorities.

  • Demonstrated success leading complex cross-functional initiatives in Agile environments.

  • Familiarity with portfolio management order management trading risk analytics and investment data platforms preferred.

EDUCATION
Bachelors degree required. Advanced degree and/or CFA FRM CAIA or related professional qualification preferred.

Our approach to compensation considers all aspects of total compensation; all employees are eligible to receive salary variable compensation and benefits. The base salary range for this position is:

USD 120000 - 225000

This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered when making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; role; skills and experience; certifications; and education. This range is an estimate and further details on salary and total compensation aspects will be shared with candidates during the recruitment process.

Base salaryis only one component of Wellingtons total compensation approach. Other rewards may include a discretionary Corporate Bonus and/ or Incentives if eligible.
