As a leader in passivecomponenttechnology NICs offerings of passive components including a wide range of capacitors circuit protection products inductors magnetics resistors and RF products are built to meet the challenges of modern electronics design.
We are looking for a Product Engineer to serve as a key technical resource across NIC Components full portfolio of passive electronic components (including capacitors inductors resistors magnetics and RF products).
This role willbe responsible forsupporting both internal teams and customers withcomponentselection competitive cross-referencing and technical data validation. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of passive components and the ability to translate application requirements or competitor part numbers into optimized NIC solutions.
It also offers the opportunity to work with colleagues and suppliers worldwide.
This is an in-person role based in our Long Island NY office.
What Youll Be Doing:
Develop strong working knowledge of NICs passivecomponentportfolio to support technical and product-related inquiries
Utilize internal databases and parametric tools to recommendcomponentselections based on:
Application requirements
Functional descriptions
Competitor part numbers
Ability to successfully offercomponentselection or generate cross-reference options including identifying pin-for-pin and functionally equivalent replacements
Validate and improve the accuracy of existing parametric and product data
Contribute to NICs technical marketing catalog including white papers test reports and marketingmaterial.
Resolve customer issues related tocomponentselection
Query datasets and generate reports to support advanced applications customers and internal decision-making
Participate in customer discussions as the technical voice for parametric and product data.
Assistin developing and enhancing internal tools thatleveragecomponentparametric attributes
Collaborate closely with engineering product management and sales teams to ensure technical alignment and responsiveness
What Were Looking For:
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Computer Engineering or related field
25 years of experience incomponentengineering product engineering or a related technical role
Strong understanding of passive electronic components and circuit-level design considerations
Experience working with parametric data technical databases orcomponentselection tools
Ability to interpret datasheets and translate technical specifications into practical recommendations
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Effective communication skills with ability to interact with both technical and commercial stakeholders.
Experience withcomponentcross-referencing and competitive analysis
Advancedproficiencyin Excel or other data analysis tools
Familiarity with database querying or data management systems
Exposure to customer-facing technical support or field application engineering
Work Arrangement:
Hybrid: 3 days in office/2dayswork from home
