Job Summary
Responsibilities and Duties
- Design and develop electric heating elements assemblies and thermal systems for industrial commercial and residential applications.
- Verifies product design. Checks manufacturing drawings for completeness and accuracy. Performs engineering tests and submits product for screen and qualification testing in the lab.
- Coordinates new product development debug and release. Follows all product development steps supplies tooling groups with necessary drawings for quoting and tool build. Assists and supports manufacturing in the debug process. Responsible for follow-up documentation publishing and expediting all action items of a new product program.
- Create and maintain engineering drawings specifications and technical documentation.
- Prepares and follows deviations and engineering change orders (ECO) per documented work instructions.
- Evaluate customer requirements and develop customized product solutions.
- Conduct product testing validation and performance analysis to ensure compliance with specifications and industry standards
- Interfaces with internal departments (manufacturing quality lab sales and marketing) to ensure design objectives are met in a timely manner and assists by providing product information engineering samples and technical advice. Also interfaces with suppliers and customers.
- Lead or support continuous improvement and cost-reduction projects.
- Directs activities related to verification/validation testing of new designs.
- Supports quality by following approved policies procedures and work instructions.
- Performs other related duties as required by management.
Qualifications :
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering Manufacturing Engineering or related engineering discipline.
- 2 years design experience utilizing 3D CAD software.
- Knowledge of drafting standards and design layout.
- Able to travel to visit customers suppliers and other site locations for multiple overnight stays.
- 3-5 years experience in heater design.
- Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and FMEA process.
- Experience with finite element modeling solid modeling and GD&T (geometric design & tolerancing).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills that demonstrate the ability to express complex technical concepts clearly and concisely.
- Previous experience working in a team environment where the focus is on the larger organizational goal versus individual concerns.
- Experience with product development processes and execution.
- Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks Inventor AutoCAD or similar.
