Job Summary
The Process Engineer is responsible for activities related to process improvement throughout the facility. This includes but is not limited to the analysis of staffing methods materials equipment tools and machines with a strong focus on waste reduction. This position analyzes product or equipment specifications and performance requirements to provide feedback regarding designs which can be produced by existing manufacturing or processing equipment and methods.
The Process Engineer plans directs and coordinates manufacturing processes and supports operations to assure a quality product is produced in a timely manner. This position works with multiple departments to improve existing product designs and processes to increase throughput decrease operational costs and improve quality.

- Collaborates with Director of Operations (DOO) or Production Manager to coordinate launch or revised or new projects in Production Readiness Reviews.
- Provides to Director of Operations technical information concerning manufacturing or processing techniques materials properties and process advantages and limitations which affect long range strategic planning.
- Supports and or performs equipment and process validations and testing.
- Performs time studies for profitability analysis.
- Suggests Bill of Materials changes and partners with Production Manager and Controller to perform cost implosions.
- Initiates equipment modifications request with the DOO or Production Manager or outside vendors to improve productivity efficiency and quality as well as reduce downtime and define equipment maintenance requirements.
- Establishes and manages tooling jigs and dies program for facility tied to asset management program.
- Documents cost savings and shows trends over time.
- Works with leadership to establish project timelines project justification (ROI) and budget forecasts.
- Acts as a resource for operational departments for materials equipment and process upgrades.
- Uses Problem Resolution Boards (PRB) to gather data for improvements.
- Demonstrates responsibility for the quality and financial aspects of the company.
- Utilizes LEAN tools to develop evaluate and improve manufacturing methods.
- Estimates production times staffing requirements and related costs for projects.
- Troubleshoot and assist in repair of equipment on production floor.
- Assist in commissioning of new equipment and development of SSOPs.
- May assist in program on HAAS lathe machine Fancu welding robot UR cobot Tube End Former and other equipment on site.
- Perform root cause analysis for out of tolerance product corrections.
- Develop and implement fixturing for part processing and assembly to ensure tolerances and quality standards are met and maintained.
- Performs related duties as assigned.

- Use tact initiative prudence and independent judgement within general policy and procedural guidelines. Organize work set priorities meet critical deadlines and follow-up on assignments.
- Observe safe work methods and safety practices related to the work; use appropriate safety equipment; observe safe driving practices; wear and use proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). TFI requires all staff members to fulfill all job functions in a consistent state of alertness and work in a safe manner.
